Quality hay is vital to the health and wellness of our horses! Our hay supplier Farms Custom, LLC provides us with TOP NOTCH hay, that comes with a hay analysis report, that our veterinarian approves for the consumption of our special needs herd. This report assures the composition of sugars, starches, protein and other vitamins that are important when feeding horses.

Horses are large and powerful beings, however so fragile. Earlier this week, Sequoia and Trooper were evidently playing their daily dose of halter tag, when Sequoia had a run in with a wood post in our paddock. He ended up with a puncture in his right hind leg and we’ve been tending to it with antiseptic wash and wrapping daily. This winter weather is getting to many of us, including the animals!

Thanks to our fabulous for giving our herd top notch care. Thankfully our founder Michele is well trained in horse first aid and we were able to avoid a vet visit. 💚

www.k9equinealliance.org for their partnership and support of Chance’s medical expenses!

Chance is our most expensive rescued now therapy horse to provide for. His expenses alone are nearly $19,000 annually. He has pulmonary conditions related to the neglect he suffered prior to being rescued. One medication alone costs $577 EVERY MONTH! Thanks to the support of Dave and Veterans K9 Equine Alliance, all of Chance’s medications (and he has several) are covered for the month of February!
