We are excited and honored to announce that we have been awarded our first Federal grant through GIG Fund Grants powering creativity and wellness throughout the Midwest. Abby Haake, our friend, certified drummer and military spouse will be leading the way as our veterans and their families drum their way to wellness in 2026.

Today we welcomed our veterans into 2026 with our first group session of the new year. Focusing on the art of self care and remaining present. One veteran summed up the experience as “it was euphoric.” Can’t get much better than that.

Merry Christmas from Friendly Fred, our 2025 miracle boy!

On Christmas Day 2024 Fred was poisoned by eating a mouse that someone close by had baited with mouse poisoning. We almost lost him…but due to quick action and a special team of doctors that quickly identified the situation, we were miraculously able to reverse it. He was in renal failure and after 10 mos of flushing his kidneys with fluids, antibiotics and other meds including now a special prescription diet…the doctors are happily surprised, as are we—- he is back to NORMAL! All of Fred’s treatment was made possible by YOU…our faithful supporters! Thank you for helping us save Fred’s life !

Tho he wishes he could once again be out frolicking in the barn freely, due to the risk of not knowing which neighbor may still be poisoning mice, Fred is 100% indoors now…however he gets daily walks in his cat stroller as weather permits!
