Today at Whitney Place Tapestry, our community was full of creativity and learning!

For our Birders Club, we explored summertime birds of New England and paired the lesson with our Ageless Artists program. Residents created the most adorable bird crafts. It was wonderful to see everyone’s creativity shine while learning something new.

In our “Calling All Cooks” program, we baked delicious cinnamon cloud bread for Passover, which filled the space with warmth and sweet aromas.

It truly was a wonderful day filled with smiles, creativity, and connection here at Whitney Place Tapestry 💛

Our Independent Living residents of the Willows and Assisted Living residents of Whitney Place were treated to a wonderful Music & History lecture by Frank King, featuring the Movie Music of the beloved Mr. & Mrs. Danny Kaye. 🎶

Our residents truly enjoyed immersing themselves in the timeless melodies of Sylvia Fine and Danny Kaye, whose partnership remains one of the most iconic in show business history.

With a lifelong passion for recorded music, Frank King brought the experience to life through stories and selections from his personal collection of over 2,500 record albums. His rich background in broadcasting, including hosting music programs on WBUR radio and serving as a News Producer at WCVB Channel 5, made this program both engaging and unforgettable!

Today, the Whitney Place Tapestry residents were all smiles! We were gifted beautiful handmade teddy bears from the Millis Council on Aging, and we are so incredibly grateful for their generosity.
They also created stunning quilts that will serve as a warm and welcoming gift for new residents joining our community. These thoughtful gestures truly mean so much to all of us. 💛

April's Signature Event for Willows and Whitney Place was one for the books!

Our Independent Living residents of the Willows and Assisted Living residents of Whitney Place enjoyed a wonderful Literary Café featuring special guest author Christopher Gorham, who presented his award winning captivating novel The Confidante. Set in Washington D.C. during the McCarthy era, the story follows a young woman named - Anna Marie Rosenberg, navigating politics, ambition and secrets. It's a compelling tale of courage, loyalty and finding one's voice in uncertain times.

Christopher Gorham, an accomplished lawyer, educator and author brought the story to life as he shared insights into his writing process and the inspiration behind the novel.

Our residents loved the opportunity to engage in thoughtful conversations, ask questions and connect over a shared love of literature.

Throughout the morning, families came and went, enjoying an assortment of pastries, fresh fruit, and coffee while sharing special moments together. It was so nice to see so many smiles.
