Help us give a big warm welcome to our newest intern, Sarah!

Hello everyone my name is Sarah and I am a new intern at the Brevard County Location. I studied Music Therapy at Sam Houston State University in Texas. In my free time I love to hangout with friends, explore local gems, watch TV shows, listen to music, go to concerts, play video games, and make any good excuse for a side quest. I am thrilled to continue on my journey to become a board certified Music therapist, helping make a difference in the lives of the community. One of my favorite things about music therapy is being able to witness a person’s progress to their goals while also doing something they love, engaging with music.

This is a long one, but IMPORTANT because there is currently a bill in the FL state house and senate for music therapy licensure! This would help a variety of areas as listed in this fact sheet from the Florida Music Therapy Task Force!

The Florida Music Therapy Task Force is seeking support from our community partners as we advocate with the FL Legislator to create a state license for music therapists. Regulation of health professions is the best way to protect the public by requiring providers to meet state standards. This license would recognize the the MT-BC credential, which demonstrates that an individual has completed the necessary music therapy education and clinical training AND holds national music therapy board certification required for competent practice by adding their name to an advocacy flier.

Organizations, associations, businesses, schools, employers, healthcare or special education professionals, and consumers may add their name to our advocacy materials.

If interested, please complete this form below to show your support for music therapy licensure. Creation of this state level recognition of music therapy and its national board certification credential will ensure that music therapy services in Florida are provided by qualified professionals.

We are still looking to add another MT-BC to our Orlando area team! Our waitlist for in-home sessions in Orlando and Kissimmee continues to grow, so while we currently have a part-time caseload, it is 3/4 of the way to full time already!

- Live, virtual, individual, and group sessions with a variety of ages and diagnoses
- Marketing, supervision, and community service opportunities
- Training available
- Competitive pay based on experience
-1099 direct service rates between $42-$56/hour based on education and experience
-Indirect/consultative rates up to $26/hour
