🦵⚽️Limited Ankle Flexion = Overworked Peroneals
👉If your Achilles and calves are tight, your ankle can’t flex the way it should, so your body shifts the workload to the peroneal muscles on the outside of your lower leg.
That compensation leads to:
🔥 Muscle fatigue
🔥 Tightness or soreness
🔥 Pain on the outside of the ankle
🔥 Feeling unstable when cutting or changing direction
⚽ Why this matters for athletes (especially teen soccer players):
When the ankle can’t bend properly, your body adjusts in unhealthy ways leading to…
❗ More ankle sprains
❗ Irritated peroneal tendons
❗ Knee and hip compensation
❗ Slower speed and less power
👉 Bottom line:
Tight calves + limited ankle mobility = peroneals doing WAY more than they’re designed to do.
Fix the ankle mobility ->fix the compensation -> prevent injury.🎉👏🎉👏 Slow-mo vids always help to expose more than what meets the eye😎 If YOU can relate, get a professional eye on the issue- it may be completely different than what you’ve been addressing.
