Sometimes the simplest way to boost your mood is reaching out to someone who makes you smile.
A quick call, text, or even a short conversation can help you feel more connected and supported.
You don’t have to wait for the “right time” — small moments of connection can make a big difference.
Who’s someone you could check in with today?

Oral Cancer affects thousands of Americans each year, with an estimated 60,480 new cases and more than 13,000 deaths expected in the U.S. in 2026 alone. While the overall 5-year survival rate is about 69%, outcomes improve dramatically when the cancer is caught early.

Unfortunately, many cases are diagnosed at later stages because early symptoms—like a sore that won’t heal, red or white patches, or difficulty swallowing—are easy to ignore.

This month, we encourage you to take a moment to check in with your health. A quick screening at your dentist or provider could make a life-saving difference. Don’t wait for symptoms to get worse. Early detection matters!

When was your last dental check-up? If it’s been a while, schedule one today—and share this post to remind someone else to do the same.

What’s one habit you can change this month to protect your oral health? Drop it in the comments below!

Autism isn’t one-size-fits-all. It can affect how someone communicates, connects, or experiences the world, and it looks different in every person. In fact, about 1 in 36 children in the U.S. has been identified with autism, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

If you’re a parent, a caregiver, or even just someone who cares about creating a more understanding community, this matters to you. Early support, patience, and simply feeling seen can make a real difference in someone’s life. Sometimes it starts with something small, like being more aware, more flexible, or more willing to listen.

Take a moment today to learn more, show kindness, and support inclusion in your community. Share this post to spread awareness, or comment with one way you can help create a more inclusive world.

Did you know April is Alcohol Awareness Month? For many people, alcohol is part of social events or routines. But it can also quietly begin to impact sleep, mood, relationships, medications, and long-term health.

Alcohol affects everyone differently. Even small changes in drinking habits can have a big impact on your health. Drinking more than recommended limits can increase the risk of high blood pressure, liver disease, certain cancers, depression, and accidents. It can also make some medications less effective or more dangerous when combined.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, moderate drinking means no more than one drink per day for women and two drinks per day for men. Regularly drinking more than this can increase health risks over time.

If you have ever wondered whether your drinking might be affecting your health, you are not alone. Many people ask themselves questions like:

• Do I rely on alcohol to relax or cope with stress?
• Am I drinking more now than I used to?
• Do I feel different physically or mentally after drinking?
• Has a family member or friend ever expressed concern?

If any of those questions resonate with you, it might be a good time to check in with your health care provider. Conversations about alcohol are a routine part of primary care, and your provider can help you understand your risks, review medications, and talk through strategies if you want to cut back.

The most important step is being honest with yourself and asking for support if you need it. Your BHA care team is here to talk about it openly and without judgment.

If you have questions about how alcohol may be affecting your health, talk with your provider at your next visit or schedule an appointment to discuss it. Preventive conversations today can help protect your long-term health.

Let’s normalize talking about drinking! In the comments or with someone you trust, share one healthy habit that helps you relax or unwind that does not involve alcohol.

Mental Health Monday
It’s easy to get caught up in notifications, scrolling, and staying connected.

Putting your phone down — even for a few minutes — can help you be more present, reduce stress, and enjoy what’s happening around you.
Whether it’s a conversation, a quiet moment, or time outside, those small pauses can make a big difference.
When was the last time you unplugged and just enjoyed the moment?

If you or someone in your family has ever experienced unexplained symptoms like ongoing fatigue, numbness or tingling, vision changes, balance problems, or trouble concentrating, you may have wondered what could be causing them. These symptoms can have many different explanations, but they are also some of the signs doctors look for when evaluating Multiple Sclerosis, or more commonly referred to as MS.

MS is a condition that affects the central nervous system, which includes the brain and spinal cord. It happens when the immune system mistakenly attacks the protective covering around nerve fibers. When that protective layer is damaged, it can interrupt how messages travel between your brain and the rest of your body. Because of this, symptoms can vary widely from person to person. Some people may experience mild symptoms that come and go, while others may notice changes that affect daily activities.

Today, nearly 1 million people in the U.S. and more than 2.8 million people worldwide are living with MS. While there is currently no cure, there have been many advances in treatment. Early diagnosis and ongoing care can help people manage symptoms, slow disease progression, and maintain a strong quality of life.

That’s why paying attention to your health and speaking up when something doesn’t feel right matters. If you’ve noticed new or unusual symptoms that aren’t going away, it may be worth having a conversation with your healthcare provider. Your BHA care team can help evaluate your symptoms, answer questions, and guide you through the next steps if additional testing or referrals are needed.

Share this post to help raise awareness surrounding Multiple Sclerosis and encourage others to pay attention to their health.

March is National Nutrition Month 💚

Eating out doesn’t have to mean giving up on your goals. One simple tip:
When reading a menu, look for words like grilled, baked, or roasted—and limit items described as crispy, creamy, or breaded.

Small choices can make a big difference over time.

When you eat out, what’s one change you try to make?
