Families of nonspeaking and minimally speaking autistic learners are often told to wait, to lower expectations, or to focus only on basic skills. But emerging research, lived experience, and the voices of autistic individuals themselves tell a different story: access, autonomy, and communication are possible when we presume competence and provide the right supports.

Brighter Days PPEC of Palm Bay first annual Christmas event was a huge success! Thank you to the parents and families who came to participate with their child and to the staff for ensuring all the children were well entertained. It was truly heartwarming to see all the fin that was had! We enjoy this time of the year where everyone comes together.

We truly have a wonderful village of children, families & staff. ☀️

Five Days of Christmas starting off with Pajamas and boy did we see some really cute PJ’s. Today the festivities continued with red day! May the Christmas spirit bring you lots of cheer! We sure do have lots of bright smiles and loving hearts ❤️

Tis the season!

Brighter Days PPEC holiday festivities have begun! Today Santa came to our Melbourne center with gifts for each child and we’re thankful to have our local fire station and firefighters stop by as well! 🎄 🎅
