Happy Lunar New Year! It's time to stand strong and move forward with energy and intention as we enter the year of the fire horse.
This pose is familiar to most of us as goddess pose, or utkata konasana. However some other yoga traditions and martial arts refer to this as horse stance, or vatayanasana.
This posture strengthens the legs and opens the hips. It requires core stability that helps improve posture. It also requires a steady focus of the mind and endurance of the body.
Add this pose to your practice, holding through 3 to 5 breaths at a time. Build strength to charge forward towards your goals!
