Thank you to Parrish Medical Center for inviting us to last night's Gift of Light celebration! It was a beautiful and meaningful way for our community to welcome the season. 🎄

We're grateful for our partnership with Parrish Healthcare, built on a shared commitment to compassionate, high-quality care. With First Flight serving as Parrish's preferred air ambulance in North Brevard, families have faster access to the nearest hospital, improving outcomes in critical moments.

We're proud to stand side-by-side in service to our neighbors and look forward to continuing this important work - together.

Santa’s sleigh got an upgrade this year! 🎅🚁
After soaring in aboard First Flight, he personally thanked the crew for the smooth ride from the North Pole. The jolly elf then swung by the Trauma Team to remind them to stay on the nice list this year.

After decades of teaching music and inspiring children, Loretta Fox faced a sudden stroke in her backyard.

Thanks to an alert neighbor, Brevard County Fire Rescue, and the stroke team at Holmes Regional Medical Center, she made a full recovery. Last week, she returned to personally thank the physicians, nurses, and first responders who helped her.

Loretta’s story is a powerful reminder: time is brain. 🧠
Recognizing stroke symptoms quickly and calling 911 can save lives. Remember B.E. F.A.S.T.: Balance issues, Eye problems, Face drooping, Arm weakness, Speech difficulty, and Time to call 911.

🚨This is just a drill.🚨
Today, Health First emergency and trauma teams joined forces with Brevard County Fire Rescue Cocoa Beach Fire Department, Canaveral Fire Rescue City/Port, Cocoa Beach Police Department, and Coastal Ambulance for a high-intensity, large-scale mass casualty simulation. The live-action exercise featured overturned vehicles, multiple trauma victims, rapid pre-hospital interventions, and a coordinated patient handoff with our First Flight air ambulance. 🚁

"In addition to the 650,000 residents in Brevard, we have the cruise ships that come in, an influx of visitors, vacationers, passers-through, Brightline running up our coast. Between these agencies here, we have to work together in order to get the patients out of their emergent condition and to the hospitals so that they can be treated quickly and thoroughly," explained Dr. Larissa Dudley, EMS Medical Director for First Flight.

Realistic simulations like these give our teams and EMS partners the chance to reflect on emergency responses and strengthen collaboration between first responders and trauma caregivers. Because when every second counts, preparation saves lives. 💜

Health First conducted its semi-annual mock emergency/disaster training drill involving Health First emergency and trauma clinical teams.

With the days getting shorter, staying visible on our roads is more important than ever. 🚴

Health First trauma outreach nurse Jessica Henwood spoke with WESH 2 News about the "Be Seen, Be Safe" program — a community effort to keep runners, walkers, and bikers in Brevard safe by promoting visibility, sharing safety tips, and raising awareness about the dangers of distracted driving.

🚶‍♀️ The Palm Bay–Melbourne–Titusville area ranks 11th among the most dangerous U.S. metro areas for pedestrians, according to Smart Growth America. These aren’t just statistics—they’re our neighbors, friends, and family.

That’s why Health First Trauma Surgeon Dr. Scott Zenoni and his team at Holmes Regional Medical Center are taking action to prevent avoidable injuries. Through the Be Seen, Be Safe program, they distribute free clip-on safety lights and educate the community on how to stay visible and alert while walking, running, or cycling.

At Health First, we’re proud to support our local first responders and work hand-in-hand with them to keep our community safe. That is why we're excited to provide the Malabar Fire Department with a LUCAS chest compression system.

The LUCAS device is a portable, battery-powered tool that delivers automatic, high-quality chest compressions during CPR. The device gives uninterrupted compressions, allowing firefighters to focus on other urgent tasks. For a smaller Fire Department, this is game-changing.
“It’s a vital piece of equipment that essentially frees up an entire firefighter,” says Malabar Fire Chief Joseph Ho**er. “We really appreciate Health First providing this for us.”

We’re grateful for the tireless work of our EMS professionals, and we’re proud to stand beside them in their effort to keep Brevard County safe and healthy. 💜

Thanks to a donation from Health First, the Malabar Fire Department now has a LUCAS (Lund University Cardiopulmonary Assist System) device.
