ST. JUDE AMAZON WISH LIST🎗️✨

When we first arrived at St. Jude we were encouraged to make a wish list. To be honest, it slipped my mind and then we had Kase’s Krew come up with different fundraisers to help us. However, I was encouraged again to make one and just add things as they come up.
We are so so thankful for everything that has been done for us already. You all have made this journey easier with all the contributions. Honestly, saying thank you isn’t enough. But this list will be pinned at the top of the Kase’s Krew page if anyone wants to check it out. We love you guys!

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Chemo ROUND 2! 💉

We checked in Tuesday night to start Kase’s second round of chemo. The methotrexate ran for 24 hours and big man just finished! Now we are hydrating, hydrating, and hydrating to get it all out of his system! He also had occupational therapy and speech therapy while we’ve been inpatient. We are slowly seeing improvement with his left hand! 🙌🏼
For now, we’re just hanging out and napping. We’re hoping to get discharged tomorrow before the weather hits!

We officially have a ONE YEAR OLD!!!🥳💛🎊🎂🎉

Kase turned one yesterday while we are in the hospital! But we did get to celebrate a few days early with some family! Kase tried cake, opened some presents, and danced to some music! It was the best weekend celebrating our sweet little man! 🥳
Our sweet nurses even made him a birthday sign and brought him a cake! 🎂
He is so loved! Thank you to everyone who reached out to wish him a happy birthday!

WE’RE BACK HOME!! 🥳🎊

Kase was officially discharged this afternoon and we are back at the apartment! This past week has been the toughest week we’ve had this first round. It felt like all the side effects hit Kase at once… fever, nausea, loss of appetite, fatigue, etc.. but we got his lab results back this morning and all his numbers were up. He woke up this morning back to his happy self. Also, we found out he’s no longer neutropenic🙌🏼

Another milestone in Kase’s cancer journey… he lost his hair! It basically all fell out in a day and we ended up shaving the rest of it. I knew that he would eventually lose it but I wasn’t prepared for it to happen so quickly. I must say though… he’s the cutest bald baby I’ve ever seen!

Thank you guys for all the prayers! We’re hoping his numbers will continue to rise and that there will be no more fevers until his birthday!!🎂

We almost made it… 6:30 this morning Kase had a slight fever of 100.8. Because of this fever, they redrew labs and ran cultures to make sure there’s no bacterial infection. His platelets were also low and they decided to give him a platelet transfusion to help those counts come up. He’s still feeling lousy but is finally taking a nap!

If the up and down with his fever continues, they’ll run further testing to make sure nothing else is going on! Please pray that he can recover and that his counts will start to improve💛

Well… we may have jinxed Kase by talking about how good he’s been! Wednesday morning he spiked a fever of 101. 🌡️
After his last dose of chemo, his absolute neutrophil count (ANC) was 10. Anything below 500 is considered neutropenic, which means he has low white blood cells/his body can’t fight off infections. So… with Kase being neutropenic with a fever, that meant an automatic hospital stay. In order for us to go home, he has to go 24 hours without a fever and his ANC counts need go up.
We’re still in the hospital trying to make it fever free for 24 hours. Big guy made it 12 hours and then spiked another fever of 102, and it happened again one more time. He’s been fever free since 9am this morning 🙌🏼 He has not felt good at all which is tough for this mama to watch. He’s never really been sick like this before. We’ve cuddled, watched bluey, taken walks around the floor, and played when he had some energy. He’s my tough little man! He really perked up though when he got to meet Snuggles the therapy dog! They really bonded and Snuggles didn’t want to leave Kase man. It was the cutest thing to see. 🐶
He had labs checked again today and his ANC was 30! So at least we’re seeing progress with that! Please continue to pray for no fever and his ANC counts to rise!🙏🏼🎗️

Chemo Round 1 = COMPLETE👏🏼🎉

Today Kase man had his last doses of chemo to finish out round 1! It was a long day though. We got checked in to get his port accessed and he handled it beautifully! No tears this time! Then we headed to the brain tumor clinic to start the numbing process for his ommaya. While that processed, Kase had an occupational therapy appointment. He started to show fine motor weakness in his left hand a few weeks ago. So today we put a splint on his right hand during therapy to make him work the left. He did amazing today and is slowly showing improvement! After therapy we went back to clinic to get his topotecan chemo through his ommaya. The whole process only took about 3 minutes but big man did not enjoy it. The chemo itself didn’t upset him but being restrained did. So he definitely earned his wagon nap! After a short break we headed to the infusion center for his vincristine chemo. This chemo was through his chest port and also only lasted about 5 minutes. He watched some Bluey and then we were done! YAY!🎉
He got to play around when we got to the apartment but started to get nauseous. Big man just needed some cuddles and a 3 hour nap!

We’re so proud of Kase and how he’s handled this first round of chemo! He amazes me every day. We know the next few rounds are going to be a bit tougher… so we are soaking up all the good days while we can! He gets a few weeks to recover and then we’ll start round 2 close to his birthday!
Please continue to pray for our Kase man! Pray his counts come back up, that he continues to feel good and recovers well, and that the chemo is doing its job! 🎗️💛✨🙏🏼

Kase man had physical therapy today and I think it was his best day yet! 👏🏼💪🏼
We’re working on pulling up to standing and taking some steps. He does struggle with finding his balance. A few weeks ago we found out Kase’s ankles are really weak. He’s also still in the 90th percentile for weight which puts a lot of work on his ankles! We ordered some ankle braces to help stabilize and strengthen his muscles and we also ordered some custom shoes to go with them! They should be in soon and our therapist thinks we’ll see a huge improvement once he adjusts to them!

December 29, 2025 - January 1, 2026!🎆

After our time at home, it was time to go back to St. Jude for the next phase of chemo. This phase consisted of 4 types of chemo.. cisplatin, vincristine, topotecan, and cyclophosphamide. We checked into inpatient Monday night where he received cisplatin and vincristine through his chest port. Next was the topotecan, which was given through his ommaya. He handled that one like a champ! Partly because he was asleep, but still😂 Lastly, he finished off with the cyclophosphamide. While we were inpatient, Kase had all his regular therapy appointments! He saw occupational therapy, physical therapy, and speech therapy. He loves all of his therapists and worked so hard while they were with him!
During this hospital stay he did show signs of fatigue and napped extra long, but was still his happy self overall! Praise the Lord! 🙏🏼
On January 1 they checked his labs and everything looked great. They were originally going to send us home with fluids because they weren’t sure if he was going to eat normally. However, we told them he doesn’t mess around when it comes to his food. So we struck a deal… if Kase could finish a bottle before 1:00 that day he could go home without fluids! And of course big man succeeded!!
We’re back at the apartment now and he’s recovering well! We had his levels rechecked on the 3rd and they came back good. He does get tired quickly and his appetite is not as big as normal. But he’s still eating good and acting as normal as expected.
His last phase of chemo for this round will be on Tuesday, January 6!

Thank you guys for all the prayers and Happy New Year! ✨🎉🎗️💗🎇

Christmas Surprise!🎄🎅🏼

On December 24, Christmas Eve, we went in to talk about lab results and check in with Kase’s doctor. She told us everything looked great after his first dose of methotrexate!
Something in my heart made me ask if we could possibly travel home to MS for Christmas. She had to check with other doctors but came back and told us we were free to go home!! The original Christmas plan was for both sides of the family to travel up to St. Jude on Christmas and the day after! But our sweet Lolly (Keller’s sister) helped us pull off the best Christmas surprise, even if they got home 3 hours after originally planned😂
When this journey started we knew we would most likely spend holidays and special moments in the hospital. So getting to come home and be around family for Christmas was the best gift we could have gotten this year!!

Enjoy this video of the surprise!💗
