We're excited to share the newly renovated Meteorologist Ron Childers Literacy and Life Skills Classroom!

Ron Childers has been volunteering with The Arc Mid-South since 2015 and has helped raise over $100,000 as our annual gala auctioneer. The classroom was renamed in his honor in December 2023.

Thank you, Ron, for your decade of dedication to our students and their families. This renovated classroom will serve our community for years to come!

"Today, I want to honor a former board president, Merle Smith—a true inspiration through my 45 years at The Arc Mid-South. 🥰♥️♥️

I stand on the shoulders of many, but this amazing lady stood by me through it all—the good and the tough times. Her love, wisdom, and unwavering support mean the world to me.

Merle once said The Arc "started as a small stream and has now grown into a mighty river." She was essential to that growth, turning her personal fight for her son into years of leadership and advocacy that helped thousands of other families.

She’ll always hold a special place in my heart.
