Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Wellstar Health System President and CEO, Ketul Patel, to our Wellstar Spalding and Sylvan Grove Hospitals. As he recently began his role, he took time to visit our teams and see firsthand the incredible work happening every day. His visit highlighted the family-like culture of our hospitals and our unwavering commitment to delivering world-class care to the patients of Spalding, Butts, and surrounding counties. We remain deeply committed to caring for our patients and staying connected to the communities we serve.

Service is at the core of what we do. Yesterday, it extended beyond Wellstar Spalding Medical Center as we partnered with Salvation Army Griffin for Wellstar’s Day of Service. It felt good to connect, give back, and support our community in a hands-on way.

October is off to a great start! ⛳️ I had the pleasure of joining a few of my colleagues to represent Wellstar Spalding Medical Center at the Spalding County Sheriff’s Golf Tournament — all in support of raising funds for our community youth.

Let’s just say my golf game could use a bit of fine-tuning… but I’m committed to lifelong learning — both on the course and in medicine! 😉

Just returned from an incredible experience in Chicago at Becker’s 15th Annual Meeting! I had the privilege of joining a panel of outstanding healthcare leaders to discuss Leadership Makeup: Cultivating Executive Talent in Healthcare.

During the session, I shared insights on the essential skills physicians need when transitioning into leadership—particularly the power of collaboration and teamwork. These aren’t just buzzwords—they’re the foundation of effective physician leadership in today’s evolving healthcare landscape.

Grateful for the opportunity to contribute and to learn from so many inspiring peers.

I ended this week in Boston attending the American Association for Physician Leadership conference!
Leadership is not innate — LEADERSHIP is LEARNED, and I’m committed to continually growing so I can better support my team, our patients, and the future of healthcare.

Grateful for the opportunity to learn alongside so many inspiring physician leaders from across the country. Kudos to AAPL for executing an excellent program to enrich physicians leaders nationally and globally.

Grateful for the opportunity to attend Wellstar Leadership Day 2025 today with about 2000 colleagues! As a new member of the team, it was inspiring to dive deeper into the mission, vision, and values that guide this incredible organization.

Hearing from visionary leader Candice L. Saunders, FACHE reinforced the power of purpose-driven leadership, and Keith Ferrazzi insights on innovation and collaboration sparked new ideas for leading with impact. Excited for what’s ahead and proud to be part of a system committed to excellence and transformation!

I had an incredible time at American College of Physicians Medicine Meeting 2025 in New Orleans! Grateful for the chance to reconnect with old friends, meet inspiring new colleagues, and be part of powerful conversations. Moderating the panel on providing care to those experiencing homelessness was both enlightening and deeply meaningful. So proud to be part of this community of compassionate, forward-thinking physicians.

The start of this year has been a whirlwind, and I’m thrilled to share that I’ve stepped into a new role! I’m honored to announce that I’ve joined Wellstar Health System as Vice President and Chief Medical Officer of Spalding and Sylvan Grove Medical Centers. It’s been a busy and fulfilling transition, and I’m incredibly grateful to be working alongside such a dedicated team to advance care for our patients and community.
