Happy Doctor’s Day!

From an early age, I chose this profession—and I truly can’t imagine doing anything else. Medicine is more than a career; it’s a calling. I’m honored to serve and to do this work every single day.

On this Doctors’ Day, I salute my colleagues who show up consistently for our communities—going above and beyond, often without recognition. The path to becoming a physician is not easy, with years of training and sacrifice, but the commitment to care never wavers. We rise each day ready to give our very best to our patients.

I’m also deeply grateful for the incredible support staff who make this work possible. I’m reminded of 1 Corinthians 12—each part has a purpose, and together we function as one body to achieve something greater than ourselves. Today, we celebrate all who are called to care. 💙

Today was truly special✨

We had an incredible turnout for the Wellstar Spalding Cancer Center ribbon cutting ceremony! It was truly inspiring to see so many community leaders and healthcare colleagues come together in support of this important milestone.

This expansion of cancer services in Spalding County means so much—it allows our patients to receive high-quality care close to home, surrounded by the people and community they love.

Moments like this are a true reflection of who we are at Wellstar Spalding. When we say we are Committed to Care, Connected to Community, we mean just that. 💙 💜

Grateful for the life and legacy of Jesse Jackson.

His lifelong commitment to justice, equality, and economic empowerment helped shape a better path forward for so many. I’m incredibly thankful I had the privilege of meeting him — a moment I will always cherish.

He didn’t just speak about hope… he lived it. And he continues to encourage all of us to strive for a better, more just world. Take your rest Reverend Jackson! ❤️

Today I’m celebrating the strength, brilliance, compassion, and resilience of women in medicine everywhere. It’s an honor to serve in a profession where women lead with both skill and heart every single day.

I’m especially grateful to share this journey not only with incredible colleagues, but with my biological sisters — women who inspire me, challenge me, and remind me why representation, excellence, and sisterhood matter so much in healthcare.

Here’s to caring deeply, leading boldly, and lifting as we climb. The future of medicine is stronger because women are in it. 💪🏽✨

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of welcoming Wellstar Health System President and CEO, Ketul Patel, to our Wellstar Spalding and Sylvan Grove Hospitals. As he recently began his role, he took time to visit our teams and see firsthand the incredible work happening every day. His visit highlighted the family-like culture of our hospitals and our unwavering commitment to delivering world-class care to the patients of Spalding, Butts, and surrounding counties. We remain deeply committed to caring for our patients and staying connected to the communities we serve.

October is off to a great start! ⛳️ I had the pleasure of joining a few of my colleagues to represent Wellstar Spalding Medical Center at the Spalding County Sheriff’s Golf Tournament — all in support of raising funds for our community youth.

Let’s just say my golf game could use a bit of fine-tuning… but I’m committed to lifelong learning — both on the course and in medicine! 😉

Just returned from an incredible experience in Chicago at Becker’s 15th Annual Meeting! I had the privilege of joining a panel of outstanding healthcare leaders to discuss Leadership Makeup: Cultivating Executive Talent in Healthcare.

During the session, I shared insights on the essential skills physicians need when transitioning into leadership—particularly the power of collaboration and teamwork. These aren’t just buzzwords—they’re the foundation of effective physician leadership in today’s evolving healthcare landscape.

Grateful for the opportunity to contribute and to learn from so many inspiring peers.

I ended this week in Boston attending the American Association for Physician Leadership conference!
Leadership is not innate — LEADERSHIP is LEARNED, and I’m committed to continually growing so I can better support my team, our patients, and the future of healthcare.
