Dr. Edward Cooper was a champion of research, representation and community-focused care As the American Heart Association’s first Black president, he raised awareness about the risks of stroke among both physicians and the public. His mentorship and leadership opened doors for generations of health leaders.
As we recognize , we honor the leadership, care, and impact rooted in the Black community. By supporting access to CPR education and heart health information reflecting real experiences, together we help ensure everyone, everywhere has the opportunity for a longer, healthier life.
