A diagnostic mammogram is sometimes used as a tool to help give us more data about the tissue in your breast. They are especially useful if we find an issue during your screening mammogram.
The University of Pittsburgh Schools of the Health Sciences says you should talk to your doctor if you have signs or symptoms of breast problems, history of breast cancer, benign breast disease, a previous suspicious breast mass/ lump and/or large, augmented, or implanted breasts that are difficult to examine.
