The most thoughtful review we have received!
"I’m a 63 YO male with Rheumatoid arthritis. I’m also an avid golfer. RA had slowed my swing speed and restricted my movement severely. I honestly thought I would never be competitive or not hurt while golfing.
Cale did my assessment and my swing speed averaged 78MPH with my highest being 83MPH. I thought if I could gain some speed I could at least be a little more competitive.
After just five sessions with Cale with exercise and stretching designed to improve my flexibility and core strength, my daily heath has greatly improved. Though I may be sore from exercise from time to time. From the time I get out of bed and through my daily routines I feel much much better. Bending down, getting up and moving all day I have much less pain, I’m stronger. I wish that I had started with Cale years ago.
My average swing speed is up 5MPH to 83MPH. My fastest swing so far is 89MPH and I stayed balanced with my “shoes on”.
Note: Cale is not your swing coach, he is a DR. That knows the body and can help you be your very best and improve your daily life.
I’d give him 6 stars!"

I just wrapped up an assessment for a golfer who was ready to change his entire swing due to a previous injury. This player had previously battled frozen shoulder (surgery and multiple PT sessions that didn’t help).
He came to Next Step looking for help developing a new swing around his limitations.

Before doing that I wanted to check to see if his limitations were permanent or could be improved.

He started with 52 degrees of trail shoulder external rotation, meaning he couldn’t come close to the proper backswing position (chicken wing and club way across path). I asked him if I could spend 5 minutes mobilizing the joints around the shoulder. He said sure. 5 minutes later he measured at 76 degrees of active shoulder ER! That’s an increase of 24 degrees! The look on his face was shock. Not because he didn’t believe in me, but because he thought this was a permanent issue. Why wouldn’t he? He’d seen multiple PT clinics and a surgeon about the issue with no improvement.

This is the type of case that lights a fire in me and makes me excited to get to do this for a living!

Shoutout to darnellsettles for the clubhead speed gains he has made!
He initially came in with an average playing speed of 89-91 mph and is now averaging 105-106 mph!
We had him in for a reassessment today and sent him home with goals of working on upper back and hip rotation to help encourage a better backswing position; in addition to working on smash factor.
