In January 2026, Alysa Posey joined Tennessee Lactation Care as an Intern.

Alysa’s goal is to become an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) in order to serve the local community and provide breastfeeding education to mothers. She was working toward completing the required education and clinical hours under the guidance of Kimberly Hampton, LPN, IBCLC. She is now completing her education and hours with Angela Plunkett, RN, IBCLC, and will be working with moms in the Murfreesboro/Tullahoma/Shelbyville areas.

We are so happy to have her on our team!

Meet Ariela! 😍

Ariela’s personal journey through breastfeeding challenges and the lack of support she experienced along the way inspired her to dedicate her career to helping other families find the guidance she once needed. For over 15 years, Ariela has supported mothers, infants, and families in a variety of roles, always centering compassion, education, and empowerment in her care.

As an IBCLC intern, Ariela combines her lived experience with evidence-based lactation knowledge to help parents feel confident and supported throughout their breastfeeding and early parenting journeys. She is deeply passionate about nurturing strong connections between mothers and their babies, ensuring each family receives the individualized care and encouragement they deserve.

We are so happy to have her on the TLC team!
