🚨 TENNESSEE LAW ALERT: Adulterated Drug Tests Can Lead to Criminal Charges 🚨

Many people don’t realize this… but trying to cheat a drug test in Tennessee isn’t just a failed test — it can be a crime.

Under Tennessee Code Annotated § 39-17-437, using or attempting to use synthetic urine or adulterants to falsify a drug test is illegal.

💡 What counts as adulteration?
• Synthetic urine
• Detox/adulterant chemicals
• Devices used to alter temperature or substitute samples
• Any attempt to manipulate a drug test result

⚖️ What are the consequences?
• Class A misdemeanor (for use or intent to use)
• Class C misdemeanor (for unlawful sale/distribution)
• Test marked as refused or tampered
• Reported to employer, probation officer, or licensing board
• Potential loss of employment or legal consequences

How Long Is the “Date R**e Drug” Detectable? Many People Don’t Realize the Window Is Extremely Short.

Many people don’t realize how narrow the testing window is for the so-called “date r**e drug” GHB (Gamma-Hydroxybutyrate).

In most cases:

🧪 Urine testing:
GHB is typically detectable for only a few hours and generally up to about 12–24 hours after ingestion, depending on the dose, timing, and laboratory testing method.

After that window passes, a urine test is very unlikely to detect it.

💇 Hair testing:
Hair testing is not useful for proving a single drink-spiking event.
It is primarily used to detect repeated or chronic exposure over time.

⚠️ If you believe you or someone you know may have been drugged:

• Go to a hospital or sexual assault center immediately
• Clearly tell medical staff you suspect a drug-facilitated assault so blood and urine can be collected quickly
• Seek medical, legal, and emotional support, regardless of test results

A negative test does not mean nothing happened, especially with drugs like GHB that leave the body very quickly.

Awareness and rapid medical response are critical.
