Scotland County Hospital and rural health clinics are dedicated to more than just providing emergent medical care. We are dedicated to providing services to help prevent major medical conditions from occurring. SCH does this by following our mission "to improve the health of our communities, with services closer to home". Our way of improving healthcare in the communities we serve includes partnering with many medical facilities to ensure services are obtainable close to home. SCH has continually demonstrated a deep commitment to this rural and remote geographic area we serve, in which we are the only hospital in a five (5) county area of extreme Northeast Missouri (five county approximate population of 21,000). PHILOSOPHY - Scotland County Hospital, as a district hospital, believes that comprehensive primary health care can effectively be delivered on a local basis, easing stress on the patient and families by placing them in a familiar surrounding and with people they know. OUR VISION: To be the pre-eminent provider of patient-centered, physician-directed healthcare in an environment of compassion and trust, supported by dedicated employees with a desire to provide the best care possible. We are proud to partner with Cleaver Dermatology!

⭐️ Next date is Dec 11! ⭐️

We had such a successful first clinic in Memphis on the 6th! It was so nice being able to travel to our existing patients and accommodate new patients as well. Our goal is always to give the very best care, and we’re incredibly thankful to now travel to six locations to better serve smaller communities.

A huge thank-you to Scotland County Hospital for allowing us to bring dermatology services to the area — we truly appreciate the partnership. We’re excited to continue serving the community!

Fun fact: did you know our team literally loads up a van with a doctor, residents, techs, and front staff… all while keeping our main location fully open? We love what we do, and we’re grateful we get to do it for you. 💙

Brent Peirick, Chief Operating Officer, and Cheyenne Neagle, Rural Health Clinics Director, hosted a Patient and Family Advisory Council (PFAC) meeting earlier this month. A PFAC is a group of current and former patients and their families who partner with healthcare providers to improve the quality of care and patient experiences. These councils provide a vital link, offering their unique perspectives to understand patient needs and be more patient-centered. Those in attendance offered feedback on their experiences and helped the hospital officials better understand what is important to patients during their care journey.

The Scotland County Hospital/Sigler Square Auxiliary recently purchased four charging stations to be placed throughout the hospital facilities, in waiting areas. A charged phone or other device is essential for communicating with family in an emergency or hospital stay, and charging stations provide comfort and reassurance to patients and family members during these times. Auxiliary ladies are pictured with the charging station in the Outpatient Services Waiting Room and with members of the Patient Experience Committee, which recommended the charging stations. Pictured L-R: Karen Biggs, Terry Arnold, Laura Schenk, Ella Owings, Tara Shultz (Pt. Exp. Comm. Chairman) Sandra Mooneyham, Jonathan Holton (Pt. Exp. Comm.) Maryanna Troutman, Cindy Knauss (Auxiliary President) Patty Golbricht and Beverly Moore.
