This month our hospital had the privilege of completing a site visit for the Child Health and Mortality Prevention and Surveillance Network (CHAMPS) which included a tour of the facility and a roundtable discussion with key stakeholders. We were joined by an incredible group of professionals from nursing, obstetrics, pediatrics, anesthesia, surgery, administration, prenatal care, breastfeeding and the local Health Department.

Through a Center for Disease Control (CDC) supported grant, CHAMPS is helping to increase skin-to-skin care after delivery, rooming-in, and breastfeeding to support healthier beginnings for our smallest patients.

Baptist- Tipton has been an active CHAMPS partner for over a year, and while the journey continues, the progress is truly worth celebrating. The hospital has made significant improvements in skin-to-skin and rooming-in practices, and continues to focus on increasing breastfeeding rates.

There is still more work to be done—but with this dedicated team, collaboration, and commitment, we are confident that we will continue moving toward the best possible outcomes for families in our community.

After 52 incredible years of compassionate care, Dr. John Richard Janovich is retiring from Baptist Memorial Hospital Tipton’s medical staff! It’s been an honor to have Dr. Janovich serve in this community, touching countless lives through surgery and beyond. We look forward to knowing that he is still seeing patients at his clinic on the hospital campus. He has not retired from practicing, only from the hospital. Thank you Dr. Janovich for all you do! 🩺🙌

We were honored to welcome the Tennessee Initiative for Perinatal Quality Care (TIPQC) group to Baptist Tipton Hospital recently.

The visit focused on a crucial topic: the ongoing efforts to reduce maternal mortality and morbidity across Tennessee. Together with TIPQC, our team is committed to improving outcomes for mothers and babies in our community.

Through collaborative quality improvement initiatives, Baptist Tipton is working hand-in-hand with TIPQC to implement evidence-based practices, enhance patient safety, and ensure every mother receives the best care possible.
We’re proud to be part of this statewide program to make birth safer and healthier for every family.

The Family and Maternal Health Fair at the Tipton County Health Department was such a success! We enjoyed partnering with Baptist Medical Group at this event.

🍼 We shared tons of helpful info on pregnancy, baby care, and community resources. We even gave away some goodies!

This week, Baptist-Tipton was proud to host a powerful Red Sand Spreading Ceremony, organized by our local health department. ❤️ Dozens gathered to honor and raise awareness for victims of human trafficking, represented by the striking red sand. Together, we shared education, observed a moment of silence, and stood united against this injustice. A huge thank you to the Covington Tennessee Police Department, Tipton Prevents, and everyone who joined us in this meaningful moment.
