💜 Celebrating National Family Caregivers Month - The Unfiltered Caregiver 💜
When I began caring for my father, I had no idea how much the experience would change me. In the middle of caring for him — through his health challenges, appointments, and long nights — I received my own diagnosis: Lupus. Suddenly, I found myself fighting two battles — one for his strength, and one for my own.
Caregiving doesn’t wait for perfect conditions. It asks for courage, compassion, and presence — even when your body is weary and your heart feels heavy. But love pushes us forward, and somehow, we find the strength to keep showing up.
This National Family Caregivers Month, I’m honoring every caregiver who gives so much of themselves — often in silence. You are the heartbeat of compassion, the strength behind the scenes, and the love that keeps families together.
