Memphis Vascular

Memphis Vascular Memphis Vascular Center is the First Nationally Certified Vascular Testing and Varicose Vein Treatment Center in Memphis.

The doctors of Memphis Vascular Center are among the region’s most experienced teams specializing in the minimally invasive treatment of many diseases and health conditions. Vascular and interventional radiology is a method of treating disease from inside the body, without open surgery. This results in less trauma for the patient, lower risk of complications, shorter recovery time and virtually no scarring. Additionally, these treatments are performed in our outpatient center, a safe and convenient alternative to a hospital. Our doctors are fellowship trained in vascular and interventional radiology. With more than 13 years of education and training, they are among the most highly trained doctors practicing medicine today and are uniquely qualified to provide both diagnostic evaluations as well as the required treatment. If you are a candidate for one of our procedures, we invite you to schedule a consultation with us. We are happy to work with your doctor(s) and other members of your care team to find the right treatment for your specific condition. Visit us at MemphisVascular.com for more information.

Did you know uterine fibroids affect up to 70% of women by age 50? While many fibroids cause no symptoms, others can make it harder to conceive or carry a pregnancy.

Depending on their size and location, fibroids may:
🔹 Change the shape of the uterus
🔹 Block the fallopian tubes
🔹 Thin the uterine lining
🔹 Interfere with natural uterine movements
🔹 Increase miscarriage risk

The good news? Not all fibroids cause problems—and many women with fibroids go on to have healthy pregnancies.
At Memphis Vascular Center, we offer Uterine Fibroid Embolization (UFE)—a minimally invasive treatment that shrinks fibroids and helps relieve symptoms like heavy bleeding and pelvic pain. If you're concerned about fibroids and fertility, our team is here to guide you through your options. 💜

• Reduces heavy menstrual bleeding
• Relieves pelvic pain and pressure
• Preserves the uterus (non-surgical option)
• Short recovery time compared to surgery

💡 Many patients experience improved quality of life and can return to daily activities quickly.

Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure to treat painful spinal compression fractures, often caused by osteoporosis, injury, or cancer.

✅ Benefits: It can relieve back pain quickly, restore vertebra height, improve mobility and quality of life, and is an outpatient procedure with a short recovery time.

💡 How it works: A tiny balloon is inserted into the fractured vertebra to create space, which is then filled with special bone cement to stabilize the fracture and reduce pain.

👉 If back pain from a spinal fracture is limiting your life, call (901) 683-1890 or visit https://www.memphisvascular.com/services/pain-management/ to learn more.

10/15/2025

DVT occurs when a blood clot forms in a deep vein, usually in the legs. If untreated, it can break loose and travel to the lungs, causing a life-threatening pulmonary embolism.

⚠️ Know the warning signs:
• Swelling in one leg
• Pain or tenderness
• Warmth or redness of the skin
• Leg cramps (often starting in the calf)

Risk factors: prolonged sitting (flights, driving), recent surgery, immobility, obesity, smoking, pregnancy, and family history.

💡 The good news? DVT is treatable and often preventable. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to avoiding serious complications.

👉 If you notice these symptoms, talk to your doctor immediately.

Memphis Vascular Center also offers Uterine Fibroid Treatments. These are a less invasive alternative to hysterectomies. The procedure involves stopping blood flow to the fibroids, while still keeping a healthy blood supply to the uterus. Uterine fibroids are the most frequent indication for hysterectomy in pre-menopausal women they are experiencing symptoms due to the uterine fibroids. Of the 600,000 hysterectomies performed annually in the United States, one-third are due to women with symptoms from their uterine fibroids.
