While the holidays can be a joyous occasion for many it causes great anxiety. Long before we had to worry about social distancing many felt triggered by family functions because they are reminded of those traumas that no one wants to discuss or acknowledge. Some of you may even have to face your abusers during these funtions. Here are a few tips.

1. Do not feel guilty if you decide to stay home.

2. Set your boundaries before leaving your home.

3. Stick to those boundaries.

4. Do not allow anyone to force you to be around or engage with your abuser.

5. Leave if you feel uncomfortable
