Our first year participating in the Pathways 2 Possibilities Career Expo was nothing short of incredible! This year, more than 3,000 eighth graders from 10 Tennessee counties came together, filling the event with curiosity, excitement, and big dreams for the future.

The expo allows students to explore the wide variety of careers available right here in their region and learn what kind of training it takes to get there. We were especially honored to represent Funeral Services, sharing not only the heart behind what we do but also the hands-on skills involved in this meaningful profession.

Throughout the day, we gave students a behind-the-scenes look at our field. We educated them about embalming, demonstrated how a removal is made and how the cot is properly placed into the hearse, helped them identify different parts of a casket, and answered countless questions along the way, and who knows, we may have even met a few future funeral directors in the making! Don’t be fooled, the teachers and chaperones were just as curious as the kids! They asked great questions, were eager to learn alongside their students, and we even had the chance to educate some of the adults about the importance of preplanning.

We absolutely adored being part of this expo. Opportunities like this help students see what’s possible for their future, and we are incredibly proud to play a small role in inspiring the next generation.
