Meet Keri Gretebeck

“Counseling is a fantastic form of self-care. Trust the process, be patient with yourself, and be honest with your therapist if you have questions or concerns.”

She earned her undergraduate degree from Carthage College and her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling from Liberty University. After completing her clinical counseling internship at Samaritan, Keri is happy to be back completing the 3,000 supervised hours required for licensure.

Keri works with children, teens, and adults, and enjoys helping clients discover their strengths and focus on the goals most important to them. She also has experience facilitating groups and supporting special needs families. Her approach is rooted in building trust and helping clients move forward at a pace that feels right for them.

Keri sees clients in our Oshkosh and Menasha offices and is currently accepting new clients.

In addition to her clinical work, Keri will be hosting Samaritan’s Single Parent Day seminar this March. Registration is available on our website.

Faces of Compassion
Meet Sergio Guerrero

“There is no mold for therapy. You don’t have to show up polished, calm, or fluent in feelings. Therapy meets you where you are and builds from there, the same way any good story or D&D campaign does. We start with what’s real, not what’s expected.”

Sergio Guerrero is a bilingual English-Spanish therapist at Samaritan who brings creativity, cultural humility, and deep empathy into his work. Sergio works with children ages six and up, adults, and couples. He has a special passion for supporting children with ADHD and their families and is a certified Therapeutic Game Master, using game-based and narrative approaches to help clients build skills, insight, and connection. His clinical interests also include anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, anger management, chronic conditions, life transitions, cross-cultural concerns, and spiritual journeys.

Sergio sees clients in Samaritan’s Menasha and New London offices and welcomes Spanish-speaking clients. He is currently accepting new clients. To schedule an appointment, please contact our front desk at 920-886-9319.

Faces of Compassion
Meet Michaela Monteverde

“Starting therapy for the first time can feel intimidating, and that’s completely normal. You don’t need to have the ‘right’ words or know exactly what to expect. Sometimes just showing up is enough. Be patient and kind to yourself. Growth takes time, and you don’t have to do it alone.”

Michaela Monteverde is a therapist at Samaritan and leads our school-based mental health team serving students in Calumet County through THRIVE Calumet. She also provides counseling to Samaritan clients ages eight and older. Michaela earned her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee and her master’s degree in professional counseling from Grand Canyon University. She completed both her internship and residency at Samaritan.

Michaela believes people know themselves best and takes a collaborative approach to therapy, helping clients identify their strengths as they work toward their goals. She supports individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, relationship challenges, and other life adjustments, using a variety of therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavioral therapy.

Michaela is currently accepting new clients. To take the first step, please contact our front desk at 920-886-9319. Our team is happy to help you find the right fit.

Meet Dr. Courtney Pohlman

“It’s okay to not feel ready for therapy, even once you have chosen to start. You don’t have to have everything figured out right away to have success in therapy. If your therapist is a good fit for you, they’ll help you feel safe and understood no matter where you are in life.”

Dr. Courtney Pohlman is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Samaritan who is passionate about supporting individuals, couples, and families through a relational and systemic approach. She believes we are always forming new bonds and creating families, and her work focuses on helping people grow and heal together.

Courtney works with clients navigating trauma, anger, domestic violence, and other life challenges. She enjoys walking alongside clients on their healing journey, offering new perspectives, support, flexibility, humor, empathy, and positivity. She is trained in a wide range of therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

In addition to her clinical work, Courtney serves as Samaritan’s training coordinator for resident therapists and interns. She is proud to be part of an organization that invests in the future of quality, compassionate mental health care.

Courtney is currently accepting new clients. To take the first step, please contact our front desk at 920-886-9319.

Many thanks to the Appleton Area School District for inviting Samaritan to be part of their Benefits & Wellness Fair last week. It was a joy to connect with so many AASD staff and share mental health resources and support for the people who care for our community every day.

As the 6th largest school district in Wisconsin, serving nearly 15,000 students, AASD’s commitment to whole-person wellness truly shows. From financial and retirement wellness to mindfulness practices, CPR training, empathy fatigue, healthy cooking, and family-focused workshops, the day reflected a thoughtful and holistic approach to well-being.

Thank you for creating space for connection, care, and prevention. We’re honored to be a partner in supporting the educators and staff who make such a difference in the lives of students and families across our community.

What if learning social skills felt like going on an adventure instead of going to therapy?

Wayfinders is a one-of-a-kind psychoeducational group where kids and teens learn social-emotional skills through imaginative storytelling and collaborative play. Guided by licensed therapist and certified Therapeutic Game Master Sergio Guerrero, LPC, participants become heroes in a shared story while practicing communication, emotional regulation, problem-solving, and teamwork.

After a successful pilot this fall, we’re excited to offer new Wayfinders groups beginning in February for:
Youth ages 8–14 (Mondays starting 02.02)
Teens ages 15–18 (Thursdays starting 02.05)

No prior gaming or roleplaying experience is needed. Everything is taught through play in a welcoming, supportive environment. Group supplies are generously donated by our friends at Slick Mimic's - Board & Card Game Shoppe in Appleton.

To register or learn more, contact our front desk staff at 920-886-9319. Spots are limited. We’d love to help your young person find their circle.
