Here are a few strategies to support your hormone cycle. These strategies are all important! Test, don't guess! Using labs to look at hormone levels is key when you are out of balance. Seed cycling is a really foundational tool that can be used as a "food as medicine" tool that helps to promote the balance of estrogen and progesterone in the body. It also helps reduce pms and pain. Supporting your liver is another big one. Spring is a great time for liver support and there are many tools such as castor oil packs that can help with the process. I also included the use of evening primrose oil which is one of my favorite allies when it comes to menstrual pain because it's effects are so remarkable!

One of my favorite food as medicine recipes for supporting womens cycles. This seed porridge is rich in omega 3s,lignans which help to bind to estrogen so it can be safely removed from the body and zinc which us a precursor for progesterone production. I find this porridge especially helpful if you are having heavy periods, pain or pms and mood swings around the period. Its ideal to use throughout the month for best results. Just finished my latest blog on nootropics and brain health!
Brain health is a passion of mine both personally and in my work with others. I believe that maintaining brain health should be a priority for longevity. Taking steps to support ones cognitive health offers benefits that allow you to stay clear, focused, motivated and on task. This is a necessity if you want to run on all cylinders :)
The doors to nootropics have been opened by doctors such as Dale Bredesen MD and biohackers such as Dave Asprey but this field of study is still in its infancy. I am really hopeful that as more research is conducted, cognitive decline will no longer decimate peoples lives and that we will be able to function with better mental health and well being.
