Whole Truth Nutrition is a phrase that encapsulates what I believe the public needs to help improve their lifestyles long-term. Evidence-based nutrition isn't technically FACT but it holds the current and closest thing we have to truth, without the need for hyperbole. I spent a decade trying every diet fad in the health sphere only to be left frustrated and eventually sick. With multiple bio-markers in the red at the ripe old age of 26.....

One negative of quarantine has been the increase in screen time. As a nutritionist my feed often shows me other "nutritionists".

Some of these dumbo's make out that potatoes are a "bad" food or will make you fat....

Potatoes are satiating and high nutrient. The only time you should eat minimal amounts of them is when they are fried or in the form of kettle chips.

Your average 450g baked potato has 400 calories. This is the same amount as 70g of chips.

Reduction in food volume whilst increasing caloric content of food is one of the main drivers of obesity today. Its not the potato.

What is your destination?

Sure, I have a story. I could tell you all the places I've been, all the things I have done, but quite frankly proposing that my story should matter to you makes me uncomfortable.

Evidence informs my practice and the experience shapes it. This is how I approach every individual goal, whether it’s for my clients or myself. A coach needs to understand what works but also how to apply it on an individual basis. We all have unique preferences and lifestyles. We will work together to implement strategies into the current framework of your life, avoiding the do or die attitude that the fitness world has unhealthily adopted.

Just like life, fat loss, weight loss and fitness goals are not linear. They need to be approached with empathy and balance. My opinion on a majority of the fitness industry is that we have narrowed our focus in the wrong areas and as a result we have formed a negativity bias towards our limitations rather than rewarding ourselves on our journey. Health and fitness goals are important, but without guidance towards smart programming, empathy towards yourself and the present moment they can become just as harmful as the lifestyle you are trying to leave.

I got stuck in a vicious cycle like this for many years. I tried every type of diet I could find on the internet, I’d spend hours researching and weeks being incredibly meticulous about everything that went in my mouth or the exercise program that went with my new ideology. I ostracized friends and missed many social events, all for something I could have had if i’d have only reached out to a reputable coach.
