Dear ones,

With full hearts and joyful wonderings of what will grow from this carefully tended to and fertile soil, we bring forward Mend’s virtual landing, www.cometomend.com. We hope as you explore the site, you feel a welcoming invitation to a space that reverently holds celebration and solitude, joy and grief, and intentioned and aimlessness. Come as you are.

Our deepest intention is that you are able to use your time here to come home to yourself and your true nature, through nature. And perhaps, like on your yoga mat at the Yellow Barn, you’ll find yourself rooted in your own journey, but accompanied by others moving alongside you - the graceful dance of life. While no gift is greater than enjoying your own presence, we believe a like-minded community is invaluable, especially in these somewhat isolating times. There are still many ways to hold and be held.

We look forward to seeing you. Come to Mend.

With love,
Debs, Anna and Kyia

Hello Yellow Barn Family,

We officially moved to the new land in the beginning of May. After leaving the Yellow Barn one year ago, I can see now why this path opened. If we had stayed on 2455 Delaware, we would not be sharing the Yellow Barn with the COVID19 restrictions in place. Everything we've been led to create exists in the glorious fresh air. We've been working hard creating trails and designing a beautiful, wildflower pollinator Labyrinth with our new friends Tamarack and Lety.

Labyrinths look similar to a maze. The oldest surviving Labyrinths exist as petroglyphs on boulders and cave walls. Ancient outdoor Walking Labyrinths have been found in China, Europe and the Middle East, where they go back 3,500 years. Over the past 30 years Walking Labyrinths have made a revival. In the words of Melissa Gayle West, author of Exploring the Labyrinth: A Guide for Healing and Spiritual Growth, “Walking the Labyrinth fulfills six important contemporary needs: keeping spirituality; inwardness and connection to the soul; access to intuition and creativity; simplicity; for integration of the body and sprit; and intimacy and community."

I will add to this: the pure enjoyment of beauty! John O'Donohue says, “The human soul is hungry for beauty…When we experience the Beautiful there is a sense of homecoming.”

We would love to share this lovely Labyrinth with you! Torches have been placed around the outer circle so it can be enjoyed at sunrise and sunset.

Pease reach out by phone (651-260-5153) or email (dsfee@aol.com) if you would like to come for a visit. We would love to see you!

May we harness the power of prayer and intention to hold us steady in the days ahead.

Hello Yellow Barn Family,

You have been in my heart these days as I give thanks for the practices of mindfulness. I feel your presence and strength, and I offer you mine. For some of us, the Yellow Barn and community offered the building blocks for the strong foundation of our practice. Others came with a strong foundation in place and graciously added their gifts. Today, I am ready and certain that these are the days we have been preparing for. Lets hold firm to our practice so that we can remain steady. Lets have authentic hope born from the premonition of possibility. Lets create the world we can imagine, into being.

I will reach out again in to weeks ahead with some springtime offerings!

Sending you much love!

Be Well,

Deb

Thank You for your birthday wishes!!

In these past weeks of celebrations, stories and myths, I was entertained to learn only female reindeer keep their antlers during the winter. This would mean...you guessed it!! Santa’s sleigh was pulled by Ruby and her team, not Rudy. I understand male reindeer keep their antlers if they're neutered. My son and I had a funny exchange imagining Santa neutering the boys!

But my deeper learning occurred watching a documentary about reindeer. The movie took place in Lapland, the northern most region of Finland. It is known for its vast subarctic wilderness, and it is home to more reindeer than people. It was explained that when a baby reindeer is born it has 5 minutes to learn to stand, another 5 minutes to learn to walk and in the subsequent 5 minutes it must learn to run and swim. The herd is on the move across the wilderness and the mother and baby are vulnerable to prey if they don't keep up. Wow, it was a incredible to see this tiny wobbly calf get its start in life!

But mostly, I felt happy to be a human, to have had 65 years to wobble and fall and get up again. And 65 years to feel like I can metaphorically run and swim with ease. The happiness soon moved to gratitude as I thought about my herd (You) that has never said hurry up or we're leaving. Thank you for the year after year messages letting me know you're with me in thought or action. You have helped me to feel safe and loved, and for this I am deeply grateful.

Blessings and love,

Deb
