Dungarvin leaders and colleagues gathered to celebrate the 30-year Milestone anniversary of Kelly Agett, Content Development and Learning Management System Manager. The group met for dinner at The Lexington in St. Paul, where Kelly was honored for her amazing dedication and contributions to the organization.

Important DSP news:

Last week, senators and representatives reintroduced “Recognizing the role of Direct Support Professionals Act,” which essentially encourages an established “Standard Occupational Classification (SOC)” for DSPs.

Why does this matter? If DSPs are officially recognized for the skills they possess, then crucial data will be gained, and the potential for more accurate employment and wage data can be procured, which will aid in developing more precise payment rates. This is an important – crucial – first step in better recognizing our DSP workforce for the skills and professionalism they possess, while laying the foundation for higher wages, too!

You can do your part by using this link to send a message to your elected officials to voice your support for these crucial services: https://bit.ly/4a0iyLp

The bipartisan Recognizing the Role of Direct Support Professionals Act urges the Office of Management and Budget to establish a Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) for direct support professionals (DSPs).
