Our first post of 2026 is an exciting one!!

We are thrilled to share that the Millie E. Olson Award for January 2026 has been awarded to Kayla Settje!

The Millie E. Olson Award recognizes individuals who consistently go above and beyond for the long-term care profession through exceptional service and dedication to residents.

We are incredibly fortunate to have Kayla as part of the team at Menno-Olivet Care Center. Anyone who knows Kayla is aware that she has faced some health challenges, yet she has never allowed those challenges to diminish her compassion or enthusiasm. Her resilience and perseverance serve as an inspiration to staff and residents.

As an Activity Assistant, Kayla has a remarkable ability to connect with residents. They enjoy her warm personality, engaging conversations, shared laughter, and the meaningful moments she creates each time she interacts with them.

It is truly rewarding to witness the positive impact Kayla has on our residents. Hearing their laughter and seeing their smiles as she checks in with them each shift reflects the trust and joy she brings into their lives. Kayla consistently demonstrates professionalism, kindness, and a positive spirit. Her strength, dedication, and compassion are admirable, and she is a valued member the Menno-Olivet Care Center Team.

Congratulations, Kayla, and thank you for the love and care that you provide to our residents each day!❤️❤️
