Irene Dishneau, 99 of Stephenson, Michigan, passed away peacefully on October 29, 2025, surrounded by her loving family.
Born on September 24, 1926, Irene lived a full and generous life rooted in family, friendship, and community service. She was a proud and active member of the DAV Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary, VFW Auxiliary, Red Hat Society, and the Stephenson Eagles Booster Club. She is also remembered for her over 30 years selling tickets at various sporting events. Through her involvement,
Irene built many cherished friendships and gave her time and heart to supporting veterans, local causes, and the Stephenson community she loved so much.
Irene will be remembered for her warm smile, her giving nature, and her unwavering dedication to those she loved. She found great joy in spending time with her family, cheering for local teams, and lending a helping hand wherever it was needed.
She is survived by her children, Mary Cinko, Wendy Miller, Jerry Dishneau, Terry (Denise) Dishneau, Danny Dishneau, and Carl Dishneau; her grandchildren, Durell (Erik) Kakuk, Jeff (Sara) Miller, Jason (Kim) Dishneau, Lindsay (Chris) Draz, and Naomi (Alex Hernandez) Cinko; and many great-grandchildren who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her siblings, Regina Newlin and Ronald Schmidt, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will cherish her memory.
Irene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl Dishneau; and her siblings Richard Schmidt, Clarice Schmidt, Wayne Schmidt, Wesley Schmidt, August Schmidt, Leo Schmidt, and Carol Kakuk.
Visitation for Irene will be held at Anderson Diehm Funeral Home in Stephenson on Wednesday November 5, 2025 from 2:30 pm until 4:45 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Precious Blood Catholic Church at 5:00 pm with Father Jins Joseph officiating. Burial will be in Stephenson Township Cemetery on Thursday November 6, 2025 at 10:00 am.
Irene will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her kindness, strength, and community spirit will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
