American Lutheran Communities Be a part of the American Lutheran Communities in a new way! We're a nursing and rehabilitation cent

For more than 60 years, American Lutheran Communities has been a trusted friend and good neighbor, providing west central Wisconsin communities with quality senior care in the warmth and reassurance of a Christian atmosphere. With pooled resources and assistance from several area Evangelical Lutheran Church congregations, American Lutheran Homes opened its first two facilities to serve the elderly in 1949. Since then, we've expanded our services to provide local care and support for independent seniors, disabled adults, rehabilitative patients, and long-term residents. Today, our clients enjoy the comfort, camaraderie, and gentle smiles that meet them at all American Lutheran Homes facilities:

Autumn Village - an assisted living community conveniently attached to ALH Menomonie

ALH Mondovi - a skilled nursing home surrounded by the rural natural beauty and small town charm of Mondovi, Wisconsin

Today at ALC-Mondovi & Hillview, we celebrated our annual Family Thanksgiving Dinner! Over 100 guests joined our residents and staff for a feast of turkey, stuffing, green bean casserole, cranberries, warm rolls, and—of course—PIE! (Pumpkin, apple made by our residents, and chocolate mint cream!) The smiles were big; the love was plenty. It came together through pure teamwork and hustle—and the joy it brought was beyond priceless! May your Thanksgiving be full of warmth, love, and good company.

Residents of Hillview and ALC-Mondovi teamed up with Mondovi Elementary 4th graders to write Letters to Santa, sharing childhood wishes and a few new ones for this year. These letters (and photos!) will appear in the Mondovi Herald and will be sent via the Eleva Pond mailbox—where every letter gets a reply!

The letters also help fuel the Silver Santa Project, letting community members sponsor residents for Christmas. After writing, students and residents enjoyed reading Thanksgiving and Christmas stories together—spreading joy, one page at a time!

This past Wednesday, Governor Evers visited ALC–Mondovi to learn more about the Meals on Wheels program in Buffalo County. Our team works closely with Matthew Bertelson, the Nutrition Program Coordinator for Buffalo and Pepin Counties, to prepare and package warm, fresh meals onsite that are then delivered to seniors in the community.

During the visit, Matt and Administrator Tonya discussed the program’s successes and challenges. Tonya shared, “Our facility and team pride themselves on caring for our community and providing important services for our seniors close to home.” Governor Evers also joined Matt on several deliveries, helping bring meals directly to residents. We were honored to have him recognize our facility and the work we do.

The program is currently seeking Volunteer Drivers. If interested, please contact Matt at 715-672-8941, ext. 163.

Residents from ALC Mondovi and Hillview had a lefse-tastic time this week! Together with staff, they peeled an impressive 75 pounds of potatoes, rolled out dough, and cooked up batch after batch of delicious lefse for their annual fundraiser. Laughter filled the room, flour filled the air, and teamwork made every tasty moment even more fun. A truly memorable (and mouth-watering!) tradition!

Hillview residents—along with Tammy, Denise, and a few festive “helpers”—spent a joyful Saturday soaking up the Christmas spirit at the 2nd annual Eleva Pond Park lighting ceremony.

With hot dogs, cookies, cocoa, and 300 jingling bells, we helped spark enough Christmas magic to light up the park. Before the big moment, we enjoyed fireworks, a fun skit, and visits from Santa, Mrs. Claus, the Polar Express Conductor, Cousin Eddie, Father Time, Uncle Scrooge, and more!

The lights were dazzling, the spirit was high, and the fun was nonstop.🎄✨
