For more than 60 years, American Lutheran Communities has been a trusted friend and good neighbor, providing west central Wisconsin communities with quality senior care in the warmth and reassurance of a Christian atmosphere. With pooled resources and assistance from several area Evangelical Lutheran Church congregations, American Lutheran Homes opened its first two facilities to serve the elderly in 1949. Since then, we've expanded our services to provide local care and support for independent seniors, disabled adults, rehabilitative patients, and long-term residents. Today, our clients enjoy the comfort, camaraderie, and gentle smiles that meet them at all American Lutheran Homes facilities:

Last Friday, our hearts were truly warmed when the great-granddaughter of one of our residents who is dearly remembered shared a beautiful act of kindness 💕 She delivered the softest, warmest Christmas blankets and cozy socks to each of our residents—just in time for the holidays. A heartfelt thank you to Caryn I. and Mae’s Boutique for such a thoughtful and generous gift, and to the family of Lola F. for helping pass them out. This week at ALH–Mondovi, Ryan truly rocked around the Christmas tree 🎶🎄 He not only filled the dining room but set a new attendance record with 58 residents and guests joining in the fun! With festive Christmas songs and plenty of sing-alongs, the room was filled with joy, music, and holiday cheer. What a wonderful way to get everyone into the Christmas spirit!

Big cheers to Asher Long for helping us string things along and to Poeschel Trucking for lifting our holiday spirits—literally—by letting us use the boom truck to reach the tippy-top of our trees with our shiny new lights and of course, a special shoutout to our hardworking “Elves” who helped wrap up the project. Bundled up and full of holiday cheer, a few Hillview residents braved the snow to visit students at Mondovi Elementary School. The students warmly welcomed us for a joyful day of connection. Together, we enjoyed lunch, joined in the excitement of recess, toured the school, and wrapped up the visit with students reading Christmas stories aloud. The day was filled with laughter, meaningful moments, and countless smiles.

The ALH–Menomonie community gathered for a cozy and joy-filled resident and family luncheon, sharing good food, warm memories, and the special comfort of being together during the holiday season. Afterward, we came together for our annual Lights of Love ceremony, a beautiful moment of reflection and remembrance. Kerrie Gamboni’s heartfelt Christmas songs filled the room with peace and hope, creating a glow that will stay with us long after the lights fade.

Last week, the Mondovi High School Honor Society visited Hillview and ALH to help bring the Christmas spirit to life! Today, Hillview Senior Living in Mondovi proudly celebrated the remarkable 100th birthday of Duane “Pete” K., honoring a century of life and his distinguished service as a WWII U.S. Army Air Force veteran. Family, friends, and community members gathered alongside honored guests, including representatives from the VFW, WDVA Secretary James Bond, State of Wisconsin Vice Commander Rita Rindahl, 10th District American Legion Commander Felicia Decker, and 9th District VFW Commander Krist Beseler. Special thanks to Lori Smolen, Buffalo County Veteran Service Benefit Specialist, for coordinating the visit of these dignitaries.

Adding youthful joy to the celebration, local students presented Duane with handmade cards and shared fun facts about reaching 100 years. Moments Hospice also honored Duane with a shadow-boxed American flag, commemorative hat, pins, a certificate, and a cozy blanket.
