We recently had the pleasure of hosting the team from Cleveland Sight Center at our headquarters for a specialized training session on blindness and visual impairment (BVI) basics.

At Volk Optical, we spend our days focused on the precision of the eye, but this training allowed us to focus on the person. We walked away with invaluable insights into:

* Effective communication and etiquette when engaging with the BVI community.

* Human Guide techniques to safely and respectfully assist those with vision loss.

* Empathetic perspectives that will inform how we approach our work every day.

Our missions are two sides of the same coin: while Volk creates the tools to visualize and treat the eye, Cleveland Sight Sciences provides the essential support and resources for those navigating life with vision loss.
