The Night Owl HST device is designed to make tracking your sleep easier, more comfortable, and more accurate—right from your own bed.

With a tiny fingertip sensor, it measures key biometrics like oxygen saturation (SpO2), pulse rate, and sleep patterns without bulky wires or complicated setups. Just apply, sleep, and let it do the work.

What makes it stand out:
• Minimal, lightweight design for a more natural sleep
• Multi-night use to capture real sleep patterns
• Fully disposable—no returns, no hassle
• Cloud-based analysis reviewed by sleep professionals
• Tracks detailed metrics like RDI and AHI for deeper insights

If you’ve been putting off a sleep test, this could be a simpler way to get the answers you need.

Sleep isn’t just about getting enough hours — it’s also about how well your body is functioning while you rest. One key factor? Your blood oxygen level (SpO₂).

For most healthy adults, levels should stay around 95–100%, even during sleep. Small dips can happen, especially during dream stages, but consistent drops below 90% may signal something more serious.

If you’ve been waking up tired, dealing with morning headaches, or noticing poor sleep quality, your oxygen levels at night could be playing a role. This is where a sleep test or even a home sleep test can help you better understand what’s happening while you sleep.

Wondering things like how long does a sleep study take or what if you can’t sleep during a sleep study? You’re not alone — many people have the same questions when exploring their sleep health.

Curious where you stand? This guide breaks down normal ranges, warning signs, and what to do next.

Got your sleep study results but not sure what they mean?

The RDI (Respiratory Disturbance Index) tracks how often your breathing is interrupted while you sleep — including even small disruptions that can leave you feeling tired.

Here’s a simple guide:
✔️ Under 5 = Normal
⚠️ 5–14 = Mild
🚨 15+ = Moderate to severe

Even small changes can impact your energy, mood, and focus.

If you’re waking up tired, your RDI might have the answer.

Struggling with sleep apnea treatment choices? You’re not alone.

When it comes to managing Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA), many people find themselves deciding between a CPAP machine and a sleep apnea mouth guard. But the decision isn’t just about the device—it’s also about understanding your sleep data, like your AHI and Respiratory Disturbance Index (RDI), often explained in a sleep study report.

While CPAP is highly effective at keeping airways open, many people struggle to use it consistently. A custom oral appliance offers a quieter, more comfortable option—helping improve airflow and maintain healthy blood oxygen levels during sleep.

If you’ve ever wondered what is normal blood oxygen level while sleeping or felt concerned about drops (like an oxygen level of 87 while sleeping), your treatment choice plays a key role in maintaining consistent oxygenation overnight.

For mild to moderate cases, comfort often leads to better consistency—and better results.

The right solution depends on your condition, your sleep study RDI/AHI results, and what you can realistically use every night.

Many parents think sleep apnea only affects adults but it can impact children too.

If your child snores loudly, struggles to breathe at night, or seems overly tired, irritable, or unfocused during the day, it might be more than “just a phase.” Pediatric sleep apnea is often linked to enlarged tonsils, airway structure, or other underlying factors and early signs can look different from what you’d expect.

When doctors evaluate sleep concerns, they may look at measurements like the Respiratory Disturbance Index (RDI), often referred to as the sleep apnea RDI index to understand how often breathing disruptions happen during sleep. Knowing what is a normal RDI in a sleep study can help guide the right care for your child.

The good news? With proper testing and support, children can experience better sleep, improved behavior, and healthier development. In some cases, older kids and teens may even benefit from a home-based evaluation using an HST device (home sleep test), depending on their needs.

Understanding what to look for is the first step toward helping your child rest easier.

Struggling with snoring, restless nights, or feeling exhausted during the day?

Swollen tonsils can block your airway and lead to sleep apnea, causing frequent wake-ups, poor sleep quality, and ongoing fatigue. In some cases, a tonsillectomy may help improve breathing during sleep, especially when enlarged tonsils are the main cause.

Watch for signs like:
• Loud snoring or pauses in breathing
• Waking up gasping for air
• Ongoing fatigue or excessive daytime sleepiness
• Morning headaches or low focus

If you’re noticing these symptoms, tools like the Epworth Sleepiness Scale (MDCalc) or other daytime sleepiness tests can help you better understand your sleep patterns.

For those needing evaluation whether for general health or even DOT sleep study requirements an HST sleep study (at-home sleep apnea test) can be a simple and convenient first step.

Don’t wait for symptoms to get worse. Better sleep starts with the right diagnosis.

Struggling to fall asleep at the right time or wake up feeling rested?

Circadian rhythm sleep disorder happens when your body’s internal clock falls out of sync with your daily routine. This can lead to trouble falling asleep, difficulty waking up, or feeling drained during the day.

For some people, especially shift workers or frequent travelers, these disruptions can become a regular struggle. In certain cases, a sleep study may be recommended to better understand what’s happening. Options today can include at-home testing devices like the Ectosense NightOwl, which offer a more convenient way to assess sleep patterns and related issues.

Sleep concerns aren’t limited to adults either. A sleep study for children, including toddler or infant sleep studies, may be suggested if irregular sleep patterns or ongoing fatigue are affecting development and daily routines.

For those in regulated professions, sleep health matters too. Conditions like sleep apnea may require a DOT-approved sleep apnea test to meet health and safety requirements.

The good news? With the right diagnosis and simple changes like consistent sleep timing or light therapy, your body clock can get back on track.

If your sleep feels off, it might be time to look deeper.

Can sleep apnea affect your heart more than you think?

Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) doesn’t just disrupt your sleep, it can place ongoing strain on your heart. Repeated drops in oxygen levels and poor-quality sleep may increase the risk of high blood pressure, irregular heart rhythms, and even heart failure over time.

If you’ve been dealing with loud snoring, daytime fatigue, or restless nights, it might be time to look deeper. Many people explore a night owl sleep study or a night owl sleep apnea test as a simple way to check their sleep at home. These options, including the Night Owl monitor and NightOwl companion, make it easier to understand your sleep without a lab visit.

You might also be wondering about night owl sleep study accuracy home tests can provide helpful insights and are often a convenient first step toward diagnosis.

The good news? With the right diagnosis and support, sleep apnea can be managed.

Are you a night owl… or an early bird? 💤

Your answer could reveal your sleep chronotype and it affects more than just your bedtime.

From energy levels to focus and even meal timing, your natural sleep pattern plays a bigger role than you might think.

Most people fall into one of four types:
🦁 Early riser
🐻 Balanced sleeper
🐺 Late-night thinker
🐬 Light, inconsistent sleeper

Once you understand your chronotype, you can start aligning your day with when you actually feel your best, not just when you’re expected to.

Curious which one you are?
