Dedicated to improving the health, safety and lives of our Latino Community through resident leadership and empowerment. These funds were distributed by USDA.

Creating healthy communities through policy, systems and environmental changes. Cultiva Central Valley is dedicated to creating health equity in the San Joaquin Valley by fostering changes in communities that support healthy eating and active living. Cultiva Central Valley is among a growing number of programs in the nation who use a policy and environmental change approach to help community members gain access to healthy food, beverages and safe places to be physically active. In 2023-2024, Cultiva Central Valley assisted farmworkers in the Central Valley in receiving over $1 Million in direct assistance for their invaluable service as essential workers throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

Cultiva Central Valley and our partners extend a brain-filled THANK YOU to all the amazing zombie community members who crept, crawled, and rolled into the 4th Annual Merced Zombie Bike Ride!

The Merced Community rose and brought life to the event! From the Zombie Crawler Trail for our tiniest terrors to the thrilling Zombie Ride Trails, the event was a Hoot AND a Holler.

Our new frightful features (The Spooky Fright Dance & BOOvie in the Park) had all of our zombies screaming in fun and terror!

The undead energy filled the Applegate Park M.O.A.T. & Bear Creek Trails with the ultimate zombie vibes. We’re dying to see you all again at future events, so don’t ghost us!

Nuestras nuevas y espeluznantes atracciones ( El Baile Espeluznante y BOOvie en el Parque) hicieron que todos nuestros zombis gritaran de diversión y terror.
La energía de los no-muertos llenó el M.O.A.T. del Parque Applegate y los Senderos de Bear Creek con la máxima vibra zombie. ¡Estamos muriendo por verlos nuevamente en futuros eventos, así que no nos desaparezcan!

Why Invest in Early Literacy?
- Ninety percent of physical brain development occurs in the first three years of life, when a baby forms over 1 million new neural connections per second.
- When a young child enters kindergarten ready for school, there is an 82% chance that the child will master basic skills by age 11, compared with a 45% chance for children who are not school-ready.

Millions of Californians are at risk of going hungry.

Right now, millions of people across our state are facing empty plates as CalFresh benefits are delayed due to the federal shutdown. Parents are worried, seniors are stretching every dollar, and food banks are overwhelmed. In moments like these, we don't wait, we act.

How can you help?

- Volunteer your time.
- Donate resources.
- Support a neighbor.

The California Department of Social Services (CDSS) has reliable CalFresh updates. Local news and social media can alert residents to emergency food distributions or community meal events.

Public service is hard enough without struggling to pay for food…. we are proud to feed our federal workers…furloughed or working without pay during this shutdown.

A hot meal is our small thank you for doing a big job for the American people! But Congress and the White House need to do their job, stop playing politics, and make sure Americans everywhere can eat!

We are fully aware of the growing challenges people are facing right now- from rising food insecurity to delays in assistance programs.

MCFB is actively working with:

✔️ California Office of Emergency Services
✔️ California Department of Social Services
✔️ California Association of Food Banks
✔️ City and County officials
✔️ State and federal partners

Together, we are doing everything we can to support those affected by ongoing economic hardship. Go to www.mmcfb.org to find food.

We’re getting food out through our network of pantry partners where we refer anyone in need. Unfortunately, we can only do so much.
