Rev David Dewease and Rev. Gary Briden will officiate.

Jerry Kendall Kinard, most often referred to as Kendall or Ken, was born February 27, 1942, to George and Mary “Manez” Kinard (later Mary Hood) of Meridian, MS. He grew up in “Shucktown” and graduated from Center Hill School, where he served as Senior class president. He married the love of his life, Margaret Ann Smith, and as a young man had a diverse employment history- including working as a milkman, an insurance salesman, and most notably working at Murray Rogers Service Station in Bailey. He eventually went to work for Bell Telephone Co. as a lineman, and he remained there for over 30 years. His time at Bell was marked by responding to catastrophic events such as ice storms and most notably after Hurricane Camille in 1969. He and fellow lineman lived on the Gulf coast for about 3 months. After retirement from Bell, he stayed home only for a short time, then returned to work at Citizen’s National Bank as the maintenance department manager. He could fix almost anything and was frequently called on by family members to help with various projects. He was beloved by his grandchildren and great-grandchildren for stories of his and his family’s past. Kendall loved the Lord, having been saved and baptized at a young age. Service to Christ was important to him, always being an active church member. He passed these values on to his children.

He was preceded in death by his parents, George Kinard and Mary Hood, his great-grandson, Bennett Hawn, and an infant daughter.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Margaret Ann Kinard, his daughters, Jeri Rogers and Teresa Aycock-both of Meridian, MS, grandchildren, Andrew Webb (Emma) of Fredrick, MD, Jamie Rogers of Meridian, Nicholas Webb (Noragh) of Burlington, VT, Geoffrey Rogers (Megan) of Gainesville, FL, Jordan Rogers of Meridian, Chelsea Hall (Cameron) of Meridian, sister, Carol Graham of Meridian, nieces Liza Gilton and Sally Graham of Meridian, and 9 great grandchildren- Isabel Webb, Jax Weir, Anessa Eskew, Jesse Rogers, Poppy Hall, Piper Hall, Joslyn Rogers, Cooper Rogers, Kimber Rogers, and numerous cousins. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren and family friends.

The family extends their appreciation to Dr. John Boyd, Dr. Richmond Alexander, and Accentcare Hospice for their care-especially in the final days.

The staff of Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-North is grateful for the opportunity to honor Jerry’s life and memory and to serve his loving family during this time

Clayton Alan Haislup

Clayton Alan Haislup, 62, of Meridian MS, passed away on Saturday January 10, 2026 at his home. He was firstborn son to Ronald and Gloria (deceased) Haislup born on July 25,1963 in Columbus, Indiana. He was the big brother to his 4 siblings, Troy Lee (deceased), Loucinda (Mark) Tolliver of Illinois, Dorcas (Adam) Ruddick of Indiana, and Nathan Haislup of Indiana. Clayton was father to two beautiful daughters, Emily Haislup of Michigan and Eliana (Craig) Walker of Colorado. He was a beloved grandpa to three handsome grandsons Leopold Haislup, Craig Walker Jr and most recently Theodore Walker.

From a young age he demonstrated a love for music and food and his God, Jehovah. While attending Columbus East High School, he discovered his talent in the arts. He became skilled with multiple techniques in drawing. Like his father and grandfather, Clayton discovered he had a talent for music and became a violinist. He graduated in 1981 and quickly began a new chapter of life in New York City, where he volunteered at the World Headquarters of Jehovah's Witnesses from 1981-1987. He joyfully worked as a waiter in both the Towers and 124 dining rooms in Brooklyn Heights, where he made lifelong friends. After leaving New York he married and started a family. They welcomed their beautiful daughters, Emily and Eliana into their lives and later his grandsons, Leopold, Craig Jr., and Theodore. He worked in several professions but was best known as the "paint guru" at Ace hardware in Key West Florida until he retired in 2024.

He was part of the Key West Florida Congregation of Jehovah's witnesses until his retirement when he moved to Meridian, MS where he became an intricate part of the West Meridian Congregation. Clayton's deep love for Jehovah motivated him to volunteer his time to his ministry. He enjoyed helping others come to know his God, Jehovah, as he did. He could regularly be seen doing 'cart work,' and was involved in community events encouraging his neighbors. He was known in the congregation for his hospitality. He believed his Creator intended us to enjoy each other’s company and did so regularly, it was said that you never decline an invitation from Clayton. He enjoyed entertaining friends for Saturday morning breakfast as a way to start their day in the ministry. Clayton is described by his friends as being humble and kind, and showed personal interest in others. From his peers to little children, he made a real effort to know them remembering their name and include them in activities. Clayton was generous with his time and efforts, "if someone needed something, he'd find a way to help them." There are numerous stories of his acts of love in this regard. Perhaps his most enduring quality was his ability to make people feel safe. Being around him was calming, like nothing could go wrong.

While his presence will be dearly missed, his smile and charm can be clearly seen in the faces of his precious grandsons. Clayton would want us to find comfort in the promise his God Jehovah gives at Isaiah 25:8 “He will swallow up death forever…And will wipe away the tears from all faces.” We so look forward to that time.

All family, friends and neighbors are invited to Clayton's memorial service.

Saturday, February 7th at 2pm (Central time) Visitation starting at 1pm. Meridian Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 6351 North Hill St. Meridian, Mississippi Zoom attendance will be available Graveside ceremony at future time. (All family and friends invited): Garland Brook Cemetery (section 82 West) 501 North Gladstone Ave Columbus, IN 47201

Stella "Aunt Sam" Marie Stuart

Stella Marie Stuart, 83, passed away on January 14, 2026, at Baptist Andersons Hospital surrounded by her devoted family, who lovingly called her "Aunt Sam".

Stella Stuart was born to William and Burlie Williams on May 17, 1942. Stella has always been a mother to anyone and everyone; even helping to raise her younger brothers when she was just nine years old.

Stella married her soulmate, Ben, on July 23, 1960. She adored and loved her husband and wherever he was, she was there also. She even served alongside him in the Marine Corps; following him wherever he wanted to go.

Aunt Sam was a mother to everyone, whether you were kin or not. She was the glue that held her family together and would feed a whole neighborhood. She in fact would fit 90 cherished members of her family into her 900 square foot home at least four times out of the year and would make sure every single one of those members were fed, full, and happy.

Aunt Sam could cook anything and among the favorites she cooked were her homemade biscuits and her Pineapple Upside Down Cake. She would also cook at least two large pans of chicken and dressing for Thanksgiving and Christmas meals each year.

Aunt Sam was also known for her "green thumb". Any plant she was given, she could keep alive for years. Any withering plant, she could bring back to life in just a matter of days. One of the flowers she enjoyed the most were Tiger Lillies.

Aunt Sam was a long-time member of Russell Baptist Church of 35 years and worked at Potter’s Wheel Daycare. While she worked at the school daycare and the church nursery, any baby she held and cared for, she considered and loved as her own. She loved her church, her Sunday school class, and her preacher; most of all, she loved her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She was a woman of faith and love, and she will be dearly missed by all that knew and loved her.

Stella is preceded in death by her parents, William Williams and Burlie Williams; her beloved husband, Ben Stuart; and her brothers, Charles Williams and George Williams.

Stella is survived by her sons, Tim Stuart (Rhonda) and Michael Stuart (Dana); daughter, Teri White (Clement); grandchildren, Jason Harris (Lindsay), Jeff Stuart (Courtney), Ashleigh Logue (Andrew), Alyssa McNeil (Cruz), and Jeb Stuart; great grandchildren, Aubrey Harris, Charlee Harris, Caroline McNeil, Everlee McNeil, Noelle Logue, Barrett Stuart, and Weston Stuart; brothers, Bill Williams, Alvin Williams (Carol), Jerry Williams (Cyndi); sister, Edna Barfield (David); and her precious dog, Lucy.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Jason Harris, Jeff Stuart, Jeb Stuart, Jason Williams, Andrew Logue, and Cruz McNeil. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clement White and Andy Sellers.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at 12:00 PM, with Brothers Steve Taylor and Jack Kern officiating the services. There will be a visitation from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM, all at Russell Baptist Church. A graveside service will follow at Magnolia Cemetery, where Aunt Sam will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.

The staff of Webb & Stephens Funeral Homes-Downtown is grateful for the opportunity to honor Stella’s life and memory and to serve her loving family during this time.
