I often wonder where the negativity around the continued need for a service began…
Here is a list of a few services that are done on a continual basis and now one ever says anything about it
• Hair Stylists/Barbers
• Getting Gas
• Grocery Shopping
• Nail Tech
• Hair Extensions
• Lawn Care
• House Cleaning
• Oil Changes/Vehicle Maintenance
While I am no stranger to the schemes that can go on in the Chiropractic world (or any other industry), that does not mean that every Chiropractor recommending continued care is unethical.
If you feel that way about yours, please find another.
My goal is to get a patient to the point at the end of their care plan where they do not need to see me just to do daily life well.
However, I also want each patient to have the knowledge about the far-reaching benefits of continual life-long Chiropractic care to help them THRIVE.
Because the reality is that
1) Life is unusually stressful in the modern era
2) Those who demand a lot from their bodies and have busy lifestyles (myself included), feel and function tremendously better when doing ongoing maintenance care.
In my opinion, this kind of care can be seen and utilized as another essential activity that you do continually and that you budget for, like getting gas or grocery shopping.
Results of a service do not last forever, in Chiropractic or anywhere else. It is not magic and I am not Divine.
I am happy to serve my patients however they choose to, whether that is monthly tune-ups or only with a new injury or when in severe pain.
Food for thought however, and my choice personally is to use Chiropractic to enjoy life as fully and freely as possible.
