Occupational Therapy Month (April) is a time to recognize the important role occupational therapists play in helping individuals of all ages build independence, confidence, and meaningful life skills. From improving fine and gross motor abilities to supporting sensory regulation and daily routines, occupational therapy empowers clients to thrive in their everyday lives.

At Better Together, we are proud to have a team of 13 dedicated occupational therapists who bring passion, creativity, and compassion to every session. Their commitment to helping children and families succeed makes a lasting impact in our community each day. This month, we celebrate their hard work and the difference they make in helping others live life to the fullest.

Autism Acceptance Month (observed each April) is a time to celebrate and support individuals with autism while promoting understanding, inclusion, and respect. It goes beyond awareness by encouraging communities to embrace neurodiversity and recognize the unique strengths, perspectives, and contributions of autistic individuals. This month highlights the importance of creating inclusive environments in schools, workplaces, and everyday life, while advocating for access to meaningful support and opportunities. By fostering acceptance, we help build a world where everyone feels valued, understood, and empowered to thrive.

Consistent attendance is one of the strongest predictors of progress in pediatric therapy. Just like any skill, children learn best through repetition and routine, each session builds on the last to strengthen skills and confidence. Research shows that when therapy is delivered consistently and with enough intensity, children make greater gains toward their goals.

Regular participation also allows therapists to adjust strategies in real time and partner closely with families, helping skills carry over into everyday routines. This consistency leads to more meaningful progress, increased confidence, and better long-term outcomes for each child.

We are Better Together

Our story goes a little like this...

A couple local SLPs had an idea. What if there was a group, a community, that connected parents, educators, specialists and like-minded people. A group designed to support families with children with various needs. A group that could share ideas, heartwarming stories, tips for IEP meetings and where to look for therapy for a loved one. A group that can support each other during the tough times and celebrate in the great times. A group that believes that you cannot do things alone. A group that believes that we are truly “Better Together.”
