The kids accidentally left an open bag of marshmallows outside in the yard. I found them days later and not only were they still there untouched by ants, they were still soft and looked exactly the same.
That really made me think.
If bugs will not eat it, what are we actually eating?
So much of what we call food today is engineered to sit on shelves for months or years, not to nourish our bodies. Real food spoils. Real food molds. Real food changes. That is normal. That is what food is supposed to do.
From a Functional Nutrition and Prevention standpoint, many gut issues, inflammation, fatigue, hormone imbalance, and chronic disease often start with the foods we eat every single day.
A simple rule I teach my patients:
Eat more foods that do not need a label.
Eat more foods that come from the ground, a tree, or an animal.
If it can sit outside for days and nothing will touch it, it might not be food.
If you are dealing with fatigue, weight issues, gut problems, hormone imbalance, or just do not feel like yourself, get your labs checked so we can target your specific issues using our Functional Lab Panel and create a plan based on your body, not guesswork.
Food is information for your body. Choose real information.
