Today our office got a very special visitor—and productivity happily paused for a few minutes. 🐾💙

It’s , and Finn the Corgi, a therapy dog in training, stopped by to share smiles, wiggles, and a whole lot of puppy joy. From his happy grin to those short legs, he instantly lifted spirits and reminded us just how powerful comfort and connection can be.

We’re cheering Finn on as he continues his training and can’t wait for the many hearts he’ll touch along the way! 🐶✨

🎉 We’re thrilled to share some great news! 🎉

Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we are the winner of the "Share ‘Cuz You Care" campaign from Triangle Credit Union! With your help and encouragement, we received first place with 938 votes and were awarded $1,000 to support our mission.

📸HHHC President and CEO, Barbara LaFrance, met with Lana Dal Molin, Triangle Credit Union VP of Community Outreach & Sales, and Jana Gemelli, Triangle Credit Union Community Outreach & Sales Coordinator, to accept the check and celebrate this exciting win together.

We’re grateful that this campaign—shared with more than 60,000 Triangle Credit Union members and amplified across social media —helped raise greater awareness of our mission and inspires continued support from our community.💙

We are so grateful for our wonderful volunteer, Judith, who has filled the Community Hospice House with festive spirit this Christmas season! 🎄❤️

From snowman to festive trees throughout the house, every corner now reflects the joy and hope of the holidays — and our community feels that extra bit of warmth because of it.

Thank you for sharing your creativity, time, and heart with us. Your gift of holiday cheer truly brightens our days and the days of all who come through our doors. 🌟

Recently, three generations of the Galeota Family gathered at the Community Hospice House to honor the life of their beloved matriarch, Elisabeth Vail Maurice, with a meaningful gift made in her memory.

Elisabeth Vail’s life was rooted in generosity and service, and this gift will help our staff and volunteers continue providing compassionate care to those who need it most. Her daughter Kristine, and granddaughter Lucy, look forward to continuing her legacy by volunteering with Home Health & Hospice Care in the near future.

💙 Thank you to the Galeota Family for this heartfelt gift and for honoring Elisabeth Vail’s legacy.

A simple act of kindness — gift wrapping for our staff— turned into a beautiful holiday story from Jeanne, one of our volunteers. ❤️✨

"The holidays can crash in on us. Wasn’t it just Thanksgiving? What should I get for my brother-in-law? And bake two dozen frosted cookies for Katie’s party?

I begin to pine for the holidays in the past. Everything was so beautiful. Of course, now I understand that my mom orchestrated the holidays. Between baking and decorating, she disappeared. But she was not resting while enjoying the beverage of her choice. Instead, she was in our damp, smelly basement wrapping presents.

That simply is not acceptable for the hard working HHHC staff. In fact, it is a tradition here for the volunteers to wrap the family presents for staff members! When I arrived as a volunteer wrapper, I discovered a room filled with paper, boxes, gift bags, tape dispensers, and every possible type of label ever made. It was a bounty worthy of Santa’s workshop.

Two families’ gifts were on the large tables with lists to get the labels just right. The first family had gifts for a boy with the same name as my son! This little fellow likes comic collections and Legos just as my boy did, and maybe he still does. The other family was giving serious handyman tools to their son and a pretty skirt to their daughter.

Now they will be able to share more holiday time with their families. As I left, I realized I didn’t need to spend any more time on my plans. The season is suddenly complete. Thankfully, for many days ahead, more volunteers are signed up to share their holiday spirit."

🌟 Yesterday we welcomed two very special visitors! 🌟

Alvirne High School seniors (and best friends) Jillian Busnach and Taylor Small stopped by to share the success of their Senior Capstone Project: a Community Game Night & Bake Sale they organized to support Home Health & Hospice Care.

Their event raised awareness for our mission and brought in an impressive $1,353 to help provide compassionate care to those who need it most.

This project was especially meaningful to Jillian, whose father passed away in 2023 while under the care of HHHC.

💙 A heartfelt thank you to Jillian and Taylor for your generosity, hard work, and dedication. You both did an incredible job, and we are deeply grateful.

Their gift helps ensure that community members in need can receive compassionate home health and hospice care, regardless of their ability to pay. We never want to turn anyone away.
