Talk therapy has its place. Clients need to feel heard, understood, and supported. But words alone can only go so far when the real pain lives in the nervous system, stored in fragments of memory and experience that never made sense of themselves. Talking about trauma is not the same as resolving it.

This is where EMDR is different. It doesn’t require clients to retell or relive the worst moments of their lives. Instead, it activates the brain’s natural capacity to process what was once overwhelming. Step by step, session by session, you witness clients moving out of the place they were stuck without forcing, and without retraumatizing.

And as they walk out lighter, you feel the difference in your own work. Therapy no longer feels like circling stories. It feels like guiding real transformation, the kind that stays with both therapist and client long after the session ends.

After a brief time off on medical leave, I am so excited to return to the office October 6th!
