Keep your pets safe during the holidays!
🦃 Holiday Reminder for Pet Parents
The holidays bring joy, laughter, and plenty of delicious food—but not everything on the table is safe for our four-legged friends. As tempting as it is to share, here are some common holiday foods dogs should never eat:
- Chocolate & Candy 🍫🍬 – Toxic to dogs and can cause serious illness.
- Grapes & Raisins 🍇 – Even small amounts can lead to kidney failure.
- Onions, Garlic, Chives 🧄 – Found in stuffing, gravies, and sides; harmful to red blood cells.
- Bones (especially cooked turkey or ham bones) 🍖 – They splinter easily and can cause choking or internal injuries.
- Alcohol & Eggnog 🍷🥛 – Dangerous to dogs’ nervous systems.
- Fatty or Buttery Foods 🧈 – Can trigger pancreatitis and stomach upset.
- Nuts (especially macadamia) 🌰 – Toxic and can cause weakness, tremors, or vomiting.
- Bread Dough 🍞 – Expands in the stomach and produces alcohol as it ferments.
- Pumpkin Pie & Desserts 🥧 – Often contain sugar, spices, or xylitol, which are unsafe for dogs.
✨ Safe Alternatives: If you want your pup to join in the holiday cheer, stick to plain dog-safe treats like carrots, green beans, apple slices (no seeds), or special holiday dog biscuits.
💡 Tip for Guests: Remind visitors not to slip your dog table scraps, no matter how cute those puppy eyes are!
