Most people have heard of plasma exchange. Fewer know what makes the Advanced Serial version different.

Standard TPE is a single session. The PlasmaXchange protocol from MDLifespan is designed as a comprehensive, multi-session approach: 3 to 5 sequenced TPE sessions, paired with targeted supplementation, personalized avoidance training, and regenerative therapy support.

It is not just a procedure. It is a physician-led protocol built around what your body may need and MDLifespan's team handles everything from intake to protocol design.

We are proud to share this with our Mesa community through our partnership with MDLifespan. A free consultation with their team is the best place to start if you want to understand whether this protocol may be appropriate for your situation.

Personalized medicine gets talked about like it's new. For compounding pharmacies, it's been the whole point since day one.

Every compound we fill is built for one person. A specific dose, a specific delivery form, ingredients matched to that individual's needs and sensitivities. Not a population average but an actual person with an actual prescription.

As more providers move into precision care: hormone optimization, peptide therapy, integrative protocols, compounding may be the clinical infrastructure that makes that kind of prescribing possible.

Our latest blog explores what this looks like in practice here in Mesa and why we think this approach is only going to become more relevant.

Earth Month brings a lot of conversation about what's in the environment. We think it's equally worth asking what may already be in the body from years of everyday environmental exposure.

Published, peer-reviewed research has identified measurable levels of compounds like PFAS, heavy metals, BPA, and microplastics in human blood and tissue. Chronic low-level exposure has been associated in the scientific literature with markers of inflammatory and hormonal imbalance. This is documented, ongoing science.

The MDL Toxin protocol from MDLifespan uses Therapeutic Plasma Exchange to support the body's natural processes in addressing what may have accumulated in the plasma over time. Plasma is gently filtered through an FDA-approved apheresis system and replaced with a pharmaceutical-grade albumin solution, all under physician oversight.

This protocol is available here in Mesa at RxFormulations. If you'd like to understand whether it may be a fit for your wellness goals, a free consultation with MDLifespan is a great place to start.

One of the most common reasons a compounding referral gets delayed isn't the pharmacy, it's the information that comes with the script.

When we receive a prescription without the delivery form, the patient's known sensitivities, or the specific strength your patient needs, we have to pause and call before we fill. That creates a lag for your patient and extra back-and-forth for your office.

When we have the full picture upfront, we can fill accurately and flag anything before it ever goes out.

We've been working alongside Mesa-area providers since 2002, and clear communication has always been the foundation of that.

If you'd like to set up a direct line with our team, we're easy to reach.

As pharmacists and providers ourselves, we know the frustration of patients who have tried everything and still are not getting better.

That is exactly why we are sharing this.

Our partners at MDLifespan are hosting a free live physician webinar on April 24th, led by their founder and Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Paul Savage.

In just 60 minutes, Dr. Savage will walk through the clinical evidence linking toxin burden to unresolved patient outcomes, how the Advanced Serial TPE protocol works and what the biomarker data shows, and a referral model that supports your patients without competing with your existing practice or patient relationships.

This is not a sales pitch. It is an education session built for providers who want answers for the patients that have fallen through the cracks.

Free. Live. Open to physicians and healthcare providers nationwide.

The provider webinar registration link is in our bio. Reserve your spot now.

Are you a patient looking to learn more? There is a separate webinar just for you too. Check the link in our bio to find the right session for you.

If your compound looks a little different than last time, you're not the only one who has noticed this and it's usually not a cause for concern.

Compounded medications are made with pharmaceutical-grade bases that can vary slightly in appearance from one batch to the next.

A minor color shift in a cream-based hormone formulation is often just a batch characteristic, not a sign that something went wrong.

That said, we always want to hear from you if something feels off. Separation, a texture change, an unexpected smell, those are worth a quick call. We document everything when we make your compound, so we can walk you through it fast.

When in doubt, call the people who made it. That's us.

April is National Minority Health Month, and there's a conversation worth having around hormone therapy access that goes beyond awareness.

Research published in the journal Menopause and data from multiple national health surveys suggest that Black and Hispanic women are less likely to be offered or prescribed hormone therapy for menopausal symptoms, even when their clinical presentation looks similar to patients who do receive it.

The reasons are layered: prescribing patterns, communication gaps, cost access, cultural factors. There's no single fix.

But one thing compounding may be able to address is fit. A standard commercial product comes in fixed doses and delivery forms.

Compounding may offer more flexibility: lower doses, allergen-free bases, and different delivery methods when standard options aren't the right match for a patient.

Every person deserves a prescription built around them.

Most people don't think of their morning routine as a health decision. But your shampoo, deodorant, lotion, and makeup may be adding up to more chemical exposure than you'd expect.

In this episode, Joe Fier breaks down what may actually be lurking in everyday personal care products and why your skin may absorb more than most people realize.

He covers how to audit what you're using right now with tools like the EWG Skin Deep Database, Think Dirty, and Yuka, what the fragrance loophole actually hides, and which product swaps may make the biggest difference.

People ask us why a compounding pharmacy offers something like PlasmaXchange. It's actually a very natural fit and here's why.

Therapeutic Plasma Exchange is a process where the liquid portion of your blood, the plasma, is gently filtered through an FDA-approved apheresis system and replaced with a purified, albumin-based solution. It is designed to support the body's natural processes by addressing certain compounds that may accumulate in the bloodstream over time, including PFAS, microplastics, pesticides, and certain proteins.

Protocols like this require precision. Individualized preparation, careful clinical oversight, and a pharmacy team that understands the process deeply. That's what we've been doing in Mesa and the East Valley for over 23 years.

Through our partnership with MDLifespan, we offer 8 physician-designed PlasmaXchange protocols here at RxFormulations. Each one is built around a specific wellness goal, spanning areas like brain wellness, cardiovascular support, and pre-conception preparation, with pre and post labs included in every track.

Comment 𝗚𝗨𝗜𝗗𝗘 below and we'll send you the full details on how each protocol works and how to schedule your free consultation.

Perimenopause and menopause get talked about like they're the same thing. From a formulation standpoint, they're not.

During perimenopause, estrogen can swing up and down in ways that make a fixed commercial dose a poor fit. One week your levels may be high, the next they may drop significantly. A standard product isn't designed for that kind of variability.

After menopause, the picture changes. Hormone levels have generally settled into a new, lower range, and the goal shifts toward consistent, individualized replacement rather than chasing fluctuations.

We ask a lot of questions before we fill a hormone prescription because which phase you're in may change everything about how we approach it.
