Roping ropes are twisted (laid) ropes, meaning they’re made from several strands twisted together in the same direction. This construction creates a smooth, round surface with consistent friction, which is critical when the loop closes.

Because the strands spiral instead of interweaving like a braid:

• The rope slides through the honda more cleanly, so the loop tightens fast without jerking or hanging up.

• Friction is predictable, letting the rope close evenly around the animal instead of grabbing in one spot.

• Twist allows tuning—ropers can stretch, break in, or add weight to adjust how fast the rope closes and how stiff it feels.

Hey guys — I regret to inform everyone that we currently have three horses out, so we will be postponing the Student Barrel Races until January 2026. My horses are always my #1 priority, and unfortunately this year has been a tough one with injuries, quarantine, bad weather, missing weekly races, and having to cancel events. I’m truly sorry — but that’s part of the sport we love.
I’m hoping that with a few weeks to take it easy, some vet and therapy appointments, and a fresh start, we can kick off 2026 strong with our barrel series!
This has honestly been the hardest year I’ve experienced as a horse mom and a business owner. I want everyone to know that my horses and my students will always come first. We’re navigating this rough season the best we can… thank God it’s almost over!
We’ve had tens of thousands in unexpected vet bills this year thanks to our very loved (and very high-maintenance 😂) horses. As always, if you’d like to help in any way, feel free to message me — our donation link is also in our bio.
