Sleep is one of the most important foundations for a child’s growth and development — yet so many families struggle to get the rest they need.

If bedtime battles, night wakings, or short naps are leaving your family exhausted, you’re not alone. The good news is that healthy sleep habits can be learned with the right plan and support.

As a pediatric sleep consultant, I create custom sleep plans tailored to your child’s temperament, age, and your family’s goals — because no two sleepers are the same.

Better sleep is possible. And it starts with the right support.

✨ Happy World Sleep Day!

Spring break is right around the corner, and many families are packing their bags for travel. The good news? Your child’s sleep doesn’t have to fall apart just because you’re away from home.

A few simple things can make a big difference:

• Stick as close to your child’s usual bedtime as possible.
• Keep the bedtime routine the same. Even if the environment changes, the routine creates familiarity and comfort.
• Bring a white noise machine. It helps block unfamiliar sounds in hotels, Airbnbs, or family homes.
• Use travel blackout shades. Those suction-cup blackout covers can make almost any room dark enough for good sleep.
• Plan travel around naps when possible. Long drives or flights during nap time can make the trip smoother for everyone.

Traveling with little ones can still be fun and sleep-friendly with a little preparation.

And if sleep already feels off track before your trip… I’m here to help.

Longer days and later sunsets are officially here… and while it’s great for evening walks and extra daylight, it can make bedtime a little trickier for little ones.

Children’s bodies rely heavily on darkness to trigger melatonin and support healthy sleep. When the sun is still shining at bedtime, it can send mixed signals to their internal clock.

A few simple ways to support sleep during these longer days:

• Keep your child’s room very dark (think a 10/10 darkness level)
• Stick to a consistent bedtime routine
• Protect that 11–12 hour night of sleep when possible

Just because the sun is still up doesn’t mean bedtime needs to move later.

Sleep thrives on consistency and environment.

If sleep has been feeling harder lately, this time of year is often why. 🌙

Starting tomorrow, the sun will be setting later — around 7:30 PM in many places. That means we won’t see sunsets before 7 PM again until October 👀

While brighter evenings are great for outdoor time, they can make bedtime harder for babies and toddlers. Light signals the brain to stay awake and can delay melatonin production.

One of the best ways to support healthy sleep is making sure your child’s room is 10/10 dark. Blackout curtains, blackout shades, or covering light leaks around windows can make a big difference.

A dark sleep environment helps signal to the body that it’s time for sleep — even when the sun is still shining outside.

Happy Sunday 🤍

I hope you’re soaking up a restful, restorative weekend with your family.

Exactly one week from today, most of the country will “spring forward” and lose an hour of sleep. The good news? It doesn’t have to be hard.

Small, gradual shifts this week — just 10–15 minutes earlier every few days — can make that one-hour change feel seamless for your little one.

And if you’re in Arizona like me… we’ll just be over here not participating 😌🌵

If you’d like a simple, customized plan to make the transition smooth for your child, I’m here to help. Sleep doesn’t have to feel overwhelming.

Happy Sunday, friends 💛

When we spring forward on March 8th, we technically lose an hour of sleep…

But we also gain brighter evenings, lighter mornings, and the reminder that spring is on its way.

Longer daylight is wonderful — except when it sneaks into your child’s bedroom at bedtime or 5:30am.

Light exposure directly impacts melatonin production. Even small amounts of early morning or evening light can signal the brain that it’s time to wake up. That’s why I recommend aiming for a 10 out of 10 dark room.

A truly dark sleep space helps children:
• Fall asleep faster
• Stay asleep longer
• Prevent early morning wake-ups
• Improve overall sleep quality

With daylight lasting longer, now is the perfect time to evaluate your child’s room. Blackout curtains, covered LEDs, and sealing light gaps can make a big difference.

Spring forward doesn’t have to mean sleep setbacks.

Daylight Saving Time is coming on March 8th — which means clocks will spring forward one hour.

For little ones, that sudden shift can feel like a much later bedtime… and we all know what overtired can bring.

The good news? You don’t have to wait until the night before.

Starting Sunday, March 1st, begin adjusting your child’s schedule by 10–15 minutes earlier every 1–2 days. Shift wake-up time, naps, meals, and bedtime gradually so their body clock eases into the change.

Small, consistent adjustments now can prevent big bedtime battles later.

If your child already struggles with bedtime, early wakings, or night wake-ups, this is the perfect time to get support. A personalized sleep plan makes transitions like this so much smoother.

You don’t have to figure it out alone.

If naps are unpredictable or short…
If you’re running on caffeine and survival mode…

Today is National Don’t Cry Over Spilled Milk Day… but let’s be honest — if you’ve ever pumped, stored, warmed, or carried liquid gold around in a tiny bag, you know some spills absolutely are worth a tear.

To every breastfeeding and pumping mom: I see you. That milk represents time, energy, middle-of-the-night wake-ups, and so much love.

And while we can laugh about the spills, here’s your gentle reminder: you don’t have to cry over lost sleep either. If bedtime feels messy, exhausting, or unpredictable right now, it doesn’t have to stay that way. With the right plan and support, your little one (and you) can get the restful nights you both need.

Spilled milk happens. Overtired nights don’t have to.
I’m here when you’re ready for smoother days and more restful nights.

I hear it’s a big sports weekend… the Winter Olympics are kicking off and the Super Bowl is almost here. So many late nights, celebrations, and schedule changes.

But here’s your reminder… you can still go for gold at home when it comes to your child’s sleep.

A few late nights won’t undo everything — as long as you stay consistent where it matters most. Keep bedtime routines familiar, protect naps when you can, and get right back on track after the excitement. Sleep doesn’t have to fall apart just because life gets fun and busy.

Gold medal sleep looks like well-rested kids, smoother bedtimes, and parents who aren’t running on empty. And yes… you can absolutely enjoy the weekend and keep sleep on track.

Cheering you on from the sidelines and the sleep sidelines.
