We held a massive cookie swap for Independent and Assisted Living, while resident Jan (our honorary Memory Care elf) took charge of frosting festive stocking cookies for her neighbors. We are living colorfully and eating deliciously!

We’ve had a lively week at Las Palomas, filled with dancers of all ages! We were entertained by the adorable "Littles" from Gem Dance School (starting at age 3!) and the fabulous ladies from Encanterra Sparkles (rocking it at 73!).

Seeing our residents light up at the tiny tap dancers and cheer for the high-kicking pom squad was heartwarming. It was standing room only for both shows, proving that music and movement bring everyone together.

The Desert Botanical Gardens in Phoenix is one of our favorite spots for a reason. It’s the perfect place to stretch our legs and our minds!

Today, we explored the trails, learning fascinating details about how desert birds build their nests. It even sparked a lovely memory from resident Natasha, who shared a story about watching a hummingbird nest on her own patio years ago. We capped off the day with a delicious lunch at Gertrude's. A perfect day of nature and connection!

When the weather is this perfect, we don’t stay inside. We headed to the Queen Creek Botanical Garden for the first time, and it was a delight for everyone.

It was especially meaningful for Kiyo, who connected with her heritage while admiring the colorful koi pond and finding her favorite vegetable, fresh eggplant, in the garden. Meanwhile, Loran practiced his throwing skills at the outdoor games, and Vicky and Elisabeth made friends with the local ducks.

We’ve already decided this is the perfect spot to bring the grandkids next time (we have our eyes on that mini-golf course!). It’s wonderful to see our residents exploring, connecting, and planning for the future.

Holidays feel even more meaningful when family is close.
Jan, one of our Memory Care residents, was all smiles during a special Thanksgiving week visit from her daughter Debbie. They spent the morning exploring the Mesa Community College Rose Garden and making new memories among the blooms.

Our Independent Living residents took a flavorful field trip to the Queen Creek Olive Mill, and what an experience it was. 🌿

We toured the beautiful grounds, learned the history behind the farm, discovered how olive oil is made, and even enjoyed a tasting that turned us into mini olive oil experts. Lunch at the restaurant was delicious, and browsing the shop for tapenades, vinegars, flavored oils, and even olive-oil skincare and candles was a hit.

A day filled with learning, great food, and fun shopping is always a win. Highly recommend checking out the Queen Creek Olive Mill. 🍽️🫒
