"One-year-old Jesirel Makas from Biwat needed urgent help when a wire became lodged in his nose. With no way to receive the care he needed in his village, our team flew Jesirel and his family by emergency medical flight to the hospital.

When he arrived, doctors prepared him for surgery—but first he needed a blood transfusion. While waiting for the blood he needed before surgery, Jesirel continued to smile and bring joy to the ward, even with the wire still in his nose.

During their time at the hospital, Jesirel’s family spent time with our hospital ministry team. Together they watched the King of Glory series and shared in prayer, something his family deeply appreciated during such a stressful time.

Once the transfusion was complete, doctors were able to move forward with surgery. The procedure was successful, and Jesirel was finally free from the wire.

After recovering, this happy little boy was discharged from the hospital. Samaritan Aviation also helped provide PMV fare so the family could travel safely back home.

From a remote village to the care he needed, Jesirel’s story is another reminder of how a single flight—and the love shared along the way—can change everything.

Most of the work that protects a life happens long before an emergency call is received. An aircraft is inspected. Fuel is secured. Crew schedules are prepared. Systems are reviewed. None of this feels urgent in the moment, yet all of it becomes critical when a call finally comes.

Compassion Crew members invest in that preparation. Because readiness already exists, response can happen without delay. Your monthly giving goes towards making our emergency medical flights possible and towards ensuring that the gospel is shared with each and every patient.

Consistent generosity builds the foundation that allows immediate action when it matters most. Join the community for $19 a month at compassioncrew.org.

When 29-year-old Gilton Apanagin from Kundiman was injured in an altercation, he suffered deep cuts to his head and right arm. In a remote village where medical care is far away, injuries like this can quickly become life-threatening.

Our team flew Gilton by emergency medical flight to the hospital so he could receive urgent treatment.

When he arrived, he was weak, in severe pain, and his hands were shaking. Doctors cleaned and treated his wounds, stitched the larger injury, and placed him on medication. Because he had lost significant blood, his family stepped in to donate blood to help treat his anemia.

As the days passed, Gilton slowly regained strength. During his recovery, he spent time with our hospital ministry team and enjoyed watching the King of Glory series. What began as a painful and uncertain situation turned into a story of healing and encouragement.

Today, Gilton is able to sit, stand, and walk again. His wounds have healed, and he has now been discharged from the hospital. He will stay with relatives nearby before returning to have his stitches removed.

Before leaving, Gilton smiled, shook hands with the team, and thanked Samaritan Aviation for the flight and the visits along the way.

In places where hospitals are hours—or even days—away, a single flight can mean the difference between suffering alone and receiving the care needed to heal.

Seven-year-old Masti Mambi from Yenjan was flown to the hospital on an emergency Samaritan Aviation medical flight after a serious fall left him with head trauma. Doctors initially described his condition as critical.

In the days that followed, Masti slowly began to improve. While recovering, he was able to sit up, listen to encouragement from the hospital ministry team, and watch The King of Glory, a Bible-based film series that walks through the story of Scripture.

Today, Masti has been discharged from the hospital and is continuing to recover.

What began as a life-threatening emergency ended with a little boy heading home with hope for continued healing.

When Nathasa Salpa needed urgent care, our team flew her from Tauri to the hospital via emergency medical flight. She arrived weak and very sick after complications from giving birth to twins. One of the twins had not been delivered, creating a dangerous situation that required immediate medical care.

Doctors were able to treat her and safely deliver the second baby. As the days passed, Nathasa slowly regained her strength. She shared meals with our team, spent time recovering with her baby close by, and continued to improve.

Before long, Nathasa and her baby were strong enough to return home. The baby received needed medicine, and both were discharged from the hospital together.

During her stay, Nathasa also completed the entire Old Testament through the KoG series.

From an emergency flight out of Tauri to leaving the hospital with her baby in her arms, Nathasa’s story is a reminder that access to care can change everything.

Every medical flight we make brings someone to the hospital. But the impact does not stop there.

Our hospital ministry team visits the patients we fly each day. They pray with families, encourage them during difficult moments, and remind them they are not alone.

Patients also watch the King of Glory series, a powerful presentation of the story of Scripture from creation to Christ. Many people are hearing the Gospel for the very first time while recovering in the hospital.

Because of Compassion Crew, these moments of care and spiritual encouragement are happening every day.

When you join our monthly giving community for $19 a month, you help make both the flight and the ministry that follows possible.
