Meet the Business Owner
John H. Business Owner John had the unique experience as a young man of seeing an abnormality in his infant sister's eye. He pointed this out to his parents, and when they had it checked found that there was a tumor growing in her eye. The eye was subsequently enucleated (surgically removed), and then the real challenges began. John watched his parents and sister struggle for years to find a properly fitting ocular prosthesis, with no success. He felt that no one should have to live with those difficulties. Through her struggles he found his inspiration to apprentice as an Ocularist. Now 35+ years later the same passion drives his compassion and desire to serve others who find themselves with the need for a prosthetic eye. Bachelor of Arts degree from BYU, received 1971 Received extensive training in anatomy and art through University, Apprenticeship and Associate courses, many of which were provided by the American Society of Ocularists. Board Certified Ocularist, Board Approved Diplomate Ocularist
