Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of Captain Thompson during this difficult time. May he rest in peace and watch over his fellow Firefighters.

Early this morning, we lost our brother Kevin Thompson (KT) after a long and courageous battle with multiple myeloma.

KT was more than a Captain—he was a brother, a mentor, and a friend. This line-of-duty occupational cancer death hits home for all of us across the Valley and throughout the fire service, reminding us of the risks that remain long after the call is over.

KT, we love you. You will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace, my friend.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of Firefighter Hernandez during this difficult time. We thank him for his service to the country and community of Glendale. RIP, sir.

It is with profound sorrow that we share the passing of Firefighter Quinten Hernandez, who passed yesterday morning surrounded by his loved ones.

Our department grieves the loss of a committed firefighter, Army veteran, and friend. Before joining the Glendale Fire Department, Quinten served our country with honor and carried that same discipline, courage, and selflessness into his work protecting the residents of Glendale. He was known for his integrity, compassion, and steady presence: qualities that strengthened our crews and elevated everyone around him. His impact on our fire family is lasting, and his legacy will remain woven into the fabric of this department.

Memorial service details and departmental honors will be shared in the coming days. We respectfully ask for privacy for the Hernandez family and for our members as we support each other through this difficult time.

We invite our community to keep Firefighter Hernandez in their thoughts and to reflect on the remarkable life of service he gave to both his nation and the citizens of Glendale.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, friends and colleagues of Firefighter Garza and the Tempe Fire Medical Rescue Department during this difficult time. RIP, sir.

Fire Paramedic John Garza passed away this morning due to an ongoing battle with cancer. He was a 20-year veteran of Tempe Fire Medical Rescue. His last assignment was on Engine 273 at Station 3.

He was 52 years old.

Service was a key component in his life. In his role as a paramedic, he helped thousands of people with medical emergencies, saving countless lives. During his career, he became experienced in many aspects of fire service, acting as a captain, an engineer and more. He was also a veteran of the US Marine Corps.

He is survived by his wife, Liana Garza, and two children, Johnny and Maya.
