Participants in the RISE Missouri Self Program celebrated Mardi Gras while making progress toward their goals. In Cooking Class, clients prepared a traditional King Cake, practicing measuring, following directions, kitchen safety, and cleanup.

In Crafts, they designed Mardi Gras masks to encourage creativity and fine motor skills. A festive parade promoted social skills and community awareness.

Physical Activity sessions included Olympic-themed games to support health and wellness through teamwork and endurance. Clients also enjoyed Mad Science classes with hands-on experiments that fostered curiosity and communication.

🌟RISE Missouri Spotlight🌟 Zacc has been employed as a Utility Worker since his placement in June 2025. He has demonstrated tremendous growth and development in his role. Throughout his employment journey, Zacc worked closely with Job Developers and participated in multiple services, including Job Club. He shared that Job Club was instrumental in helping him learn new skills and “get on his feet” when he first began working. Although he initially found the job challenging, Job Club helped him build the confidence to believe he could succeed.

Zacc greatly values the support of having a job coach. He expressed that his job coach provided a strong support system to help him manage his responsibilities and grow into his current role. With continued progress, he successfully transitioned into retention services, allowing him to work more independently while receiving periodic check-ins rather than daily support.

He has participated in Job Club multiple times and has worked in several positions throughout his employment journey. His Job Coach and Job Developers have supported him through both difficult and successful periods. He recognizes how much he has matured and grown and takes pride in the progress he has made. He shared that he is proud that his team is now seeing him at his best and appreciates having had their support along the way.

Zacc speaks very positively about his experience and would highly recommend the program to others. He encourages others who may be struggling to remain positive, follow the guidance of their Job Developers and Job Coach, and stay committed to their goals. His message is simple: don’t give up—success is possible with persistence and support.
