I just SO love helping people form, heal, explore, create deeper connections. It is the joy of my life, and as a Jesus person, I feel like I get the privilege to walk in His healing shoes. Just watching people's love heal each other. What a gift!

I love knowing this. My kids have "ragged on" me sometimes for always trying to understand what's underneath people's behavior (mostly because honestly I didn't validate them in the process--not the best mom move) but it's blessed my life to know this truth--it's rarely how it seems. My grandpa used to say, "Don't believe anything you hear, and only half of what you see."

So grateful to have a modality of couples' therapy that actually WORKS! It's so beautiful. To see how love is more powerful than fear and pain. If you can fight the second two until the love gets stronger...

LOVE is stronger than fear and pain. It just doesn't feel like it alot of the time. Hang in there.

Today, I am wrapping up a few days of helping people with connection. Sometimes very successful people understandably believe that relying on themselves to take care of their own emotions, and not share them with their partners is a good strategy. It makes total sense. It can be extremely confusing when they learn that this is NOT a great strategy from their partner's point of view. Why? Because of the vibe or the message it sends to their partner's heart and nervous system. It feels distancing or disconnecting. It can force the partner to make sense of the distress and the distance. Neither can realize what's happening, because it is a nervous system triggering the alarm. "We're not close! Why?"

Hey, folks. We're mammals. Mammals need closeness like oxygen. I help people create better oxygen flow in their relationships. It's so cool. I love it!

Love this!

When the house is quiet and the to-do list set aside. When I slip into the comfort of our bed and I see you sleeping so peacefully I can’t help but look at you with so much love knowing everything you did today and do every single day for our family, for our happiness and well-being. Cooking us complex dinners with so much love even though I know cooking isn’t your favorite task. Making sure the kitchen is always clean before we get to bed. Checking in throughout the day to see if we need anything. Making sure I always have time to create. Making us laugh any chance you get.
You make life so much better by being you. I am eternally grateful for everything you are. I love you forever
