We are so proud to announce that antibody testing has been completed on our team members!

Our goal was to ascertain evidence of an active infection or past exposure to the virus of each team member through immunoglobulin detection based on anti-viral antibodies. With this knowledge of no active infection or apparent immunity, we remain steadfast in social distancing and maintaining universal precautions in the care of our patients. Moreover, for an active infection detected by the rapid antibody test, combining it with PCR viral testing of sputa or saliva allows for assessment of viral shedding and evaluation of work restrictions to protect our patients. Of note, we are using the same product that Stanford University used in their study of 3300 subjects.

We are entrusted with the most vulnerable population, so although rapid antibody testing has its limitations, it is an available tool crucial to making informed decisions on the safe provision of services for the elderly.

Yesterday was International World Day for Safety and Health at Work! The safety of our team members is of utmost importance and as such, we’ve been diligently procuring adequate stock of PPE and supplies in the midst of the pandemic. We hope you are all staying safe and healthy at work!

COVID-19 is a fight for all of us. Vhc is giving masks to patients and their family members for their use. The thinking is, if the family member goes out to do essential activities like grocery shopping, we lessen their risk due to having a mask to wear. This leads to the patient having less risk and therefore the clinicians have less risk. Many thanks to the volunteers who sew tirelessly for the community! We also will supply COVID-19 patients in need dedicated equipment such as pulse oximeter, thermometer, BP cuff, and stethoscope. This again decreases our clinicians exposure risk. Mitigating these factors will allow Victory to care for the community!
